News Gigabyte/ASUS/GALAX RTX 4060 Low Profile

Gigabyte is creating an RTX 4060 low-profile card: https://www.tomshardware.com/news/g...-be-the-first-low-profile-ada-lovelace-design

3 fans, single 8-pin, 2 slots.

Pie in the sky, but would love to see an RTX 4060ti (or more crazy RTX 4070) model at some point.

16/01/2023 Addendum

ASUS now has a 4060 Low Profile card.
188mm, triple fan.

19/04/2024 Addendum

Galax has a card
182mm, triple fan, but the PCIE cable is at the front which will affect clearance without a custom solution.
Will advise to look for something slightly bigger

Edit: I see you are doing custom fans. 2x80mm should work fine if they hold pressure and you can make a shroud so all the air goes through the fins. I think Noctua makes a 60mm fan? NF-A6x25
Problem with 80mm fans is that they are also blowing air underneath the card (they are much taller than the radiator) I think that's the reason for insufficient air pressure. One fan also extends beyond the radiator (card is not as long as 2x80mm fans combined), but it shouldn't be as negative for the air pressure? I think I am best off with getting those 60mm

To utilize the increased power limit of new bios, I got myself PTM7950 thermal solution + 3x A6x25. While indeed they work better than 2x A8x25, my case has no clearance, and the fans had to be attached by a single screw to the side panel of my A24-V5. I believe because of that the fans are "vibrating" a lot, when put at 60% or more speed. Overall when running at 80-100% the card stays relatively cooler, but the noise and "sound" of it is just unbearable.
What would you recommend in my case? Trying to push some pads between fans and side panel, which will bend the card in pcie slot? Going with some slim 60mm fan (20/15/10 mm). I don't own a 3d printer, nor capabilities to make a custom shroud for such fans. Or maybe just keep card as it is, and run it with 90% PL + UV so temperatures never hit 90 degrees @3500 RPM

Scratch that, I've managed to successfully crossflash the quiet VBIOS and overclocked VBIOS from another Gigabyte card.

It's hard to tell how well it works as the RTX4060 power measurement is fairly bogus at best, but with the +13% set in Afterburner HWInfo shows 130W usage at full tilt compared to 115W with the stock LP VBIOS.

But - GREAT NEWS --> FAN STOP / Zero RPM Fan mode WORKS !!

I've also managed a slightly higher TimeSpy Graphics score at 11,705 when paired with the same hardware as before.

Necro'ing this thread because of the post, what did you use in the end to get the bios flashed onto the 4060 LP?

Looking to do the same to increase the power limit and use the fan stop function. Did you just flash the Overclocked VBIOS to get the fan stop working or do both bios's work?

Thanks

Successfully flashed the bioss on the 4060 LP, the extra 13% PL overhead is really good! Got a similiar score to SFFMunkee in time spy.

Stock Run:

Overclocked: +125 +1300mem

Bios Flashed: Same settings as SFFMunkee but Mem @1500

Nice work!! I need to go get a fan adapter so I can keep my 0 rpm fan, full speed fan AND higher PL...

I will need to do the same, if you find a good adapter to use let me know please :D.

Gotta admit, even though i've done vbios flashes on older gpu's, it was still abit nerve racking on a 4000 series card since i've never done it on this card or used the new software before with the bypass. The instructions in the github were nice and clear though.

.... and now Galax has a model as well

Looks quite spiffy with the all-white design but again 182mm long so... impossible to fit in many cases.

182mm long with the power socket right at the end of the board, with no recessing. What a shame, because it looks great.

Try 2.5L 😆. PIO JW H610 motherboard from Taobao less than 100 shipped, including superbuy battery removal service. I'm expecting my second one any day. Used Alienware GaN PSU. (Yes room for it inside if desired.)
Sounds like a system will work sensibly good 😅 what’s the case?

This with 8mm standoffs on the lid screws and a little bracket for the GPU corner. Left the second slot Display port covered by the case.

(There is a different "revoccase" that may work with mods: https://smallformfactor.net/forum/t...x-case-optional-1-56l-thunderbolt-egpu.17105/)
