News Gigabyte/ASUS/GALAX RTX 4060 Low Profile

Gigabyte is creating an RTX 4060 low-profile card: https://www.tomshardware.com/news/g...-be-the-first-low-profile-ada-lovelace-design

3 fans, single 8-pin, 2 slots.

Pie in the sky, but would love to see an RTX 4060ti (or more crazy RTX 4070) model at some point.

16/01/2023 Addendum

ASUS now has a 4060 Low Profile card.
188mm, triple fan.

Galax has a card
182mm, triple fan, but the PCIE cable is at the front which will affect clearance without a custom solution.
Will advise to look for something slightly bigger

Seems like an odd card for the non OC version of the 4060? the difference is a only 15MHz?
2460 vs 2475MHz?

will be interesting to see the price delta between those two variants will be?

I've seen some manufacturers doing the same with higher tier cards and asking 50 to 80 EUR more for those 15Mhz XD

So yeah, I'm also curious to see the price because those 15Mhz you can get for free via Afterburner :p
The OC version currently sits at 355 Euro (cheapest option) here in Germany (acc. to Geizhals), but I'm not gonna complain if we get it for a few euros less in the non-OC version instead :)

My OC boosts to around 2725 MHz at stock, so the D version will likely still boost to around 2700 MHz, unless they're heavily binned. That's a winner if it's significantly cheaper.

I had no idea there was a 3050 LP. Damn I've been wanting to upgrade my 1650 LP for a while for HDMI 2.1

Like @REVOCCASES said it was just launched ...and don't think of it as a 3050 LP it's a 3050 6GB LP!

Along with 2GB less the memory interface is down from 128bit to 96bit, the core count is down from 2560 to either 2304 or 2048 (some conflicting info there) and the powerlimit is down from 115W to 70W.

So whether it is a 8GB or 6GB RTX 3050 is even more important than whether it is a 12GB or 8GB RTX 3060!

(NVIDIA being NVIDIA doing NVIDIA things).

Oh wow.... That is quite the nerf.... more do they need to bring out the xx40 naming? because it is sounding more and more like it should be a 3040 TI :p

Does anyone thing a Hdplex GAN250w PSU would have a problem with the 4060 LP and a Ryzen 3600x?

Just wanted to pop in and share that the Gigabyte 4060 will fit inside an ML09 when deshrouded. But just barely!

I'm using two Noctua fans (NF-A8 PWM chromax and NF-A6x25 PWM) fastened to the case's fan mounts for the cooling, with washers added to push the fans as close to the heatsink as possible. Turns out you can't fit two 80x25mm fans in here due to the second slot's DP interface getting in the way. And with there being no chromax variant of the NF-A6x25... it just sticks out a bit compared to the rest of my build. But it works!

It doesn't stay quite as cool as the stock fans, but it's able to go up to 2790 MHz with just undervolting. Pretty satisfying IMO.

Thanks. My case, J-hack Pure-X, also has a spot for a 40mm fan to blow over the HDPlex and a Noctual L12S CPU cooler.
I have my small rig housed in my T1 at the moment while I make some mods for the A4DC, but I've just printed @msystems toastyplex fan mount for the 250w GaN. Looks like a nice solution. I don't need the extra cooling, but it's nice to try things out.
