News Gigabyte/ASUS/GALAX RTX 4060 Low Profile

Gigabyte is creating an RTX 4060 low-profile card: https://www.tomshardware.com/news/g...-be-the-first-low-profile-ada-lovelace-design

3 fans, single 8-pin, 2 slots.

Pie in the sky, but would love to see an RTX 4060ti (or more crazy RTX 4070) model at some point.

16/01/2023 Addendum

ASUS now has a 4060 Low Profile card.
188mm, triple fan.

19/04/2024 Addendum

Galax has a card
182mm, triple fan, but the PCIE cable is at the front which will affect clearance without a custom solution.
Will advise to look for something slightly bigger

There was exactly one in stock for 419€...and it was faster then ordering from the US with propper warranty through a local retailer! :)
It's a bit bizarre, because within the EU, any online webstore has the obligation to ship anywhere within the EU.
Yeah, I am aware that quite some (bigger) shops don't do that.

I guess I could arrange maybe something for when people really want it and ship it to them.
But please don't harass me by the billions lol :D

That's not entirely true. The legislation you're mentioning is mainly about not geoblocking costumers or forcing them to use a certain version of your shop specific to a country.

I can choose to offer only shipment to Germany. But I can't refuse a Dutch customer access to my shop and that customer should be allowed to purchase if he/she has a shipping address in Germany.

That's a fictional example of course, because I do ship to all EU countries 😁

That is not true;

So as an only shop you actually do have to offer shipping to any country within the EU.
My GF has a shop herself, so we really went trough this all.

I stand to be corrected.

When selling goods online, sellers are generally free to choose the area where they operate and, therefore, the area where they deliver goods. So, you cannot demand that the seller ship the goods to your home address.

Makes me wonder if it does change per country in those nuances?
Because I am sure I read it somewhere.......

I can act as proxy if anyone from Europe wants to order from megekko.nl. That would cost € 342,95 + shipping to your address (usually about 10-15 euros). Still not quire msrp but better than what most European shops are charging.

No proper retailer in the UK yet?

The ones I could find, don't know which ones are reliable though:

So it seems we could shove a 4060 LP and a HDPLEX 250w in this thing? Pure X is the gift that keeps on giving. May need to refresh my 1650LP and 200w Meanwell...
I would be careful about the 4060 in the Pure X. The slit to fit the PCIe bracket is not wide enough, so I forced it in and I broke my 4060 that way (had to get a replacement). I would try to widen the opening a fair bit before trying to fit it in. The HDPLEX I just taped to the side of the case lol.

Can you show me what you're talking about? I have a very early Pure X (maybe there was only one batch, not sure - see my signature) but the PCIe slot in the case was manufactured wrong so you can't use the PCIe bracket at all. J-Hack provided a 3-D printed PCIe cover for my card (Asus GTX 1650). I'm currently using a typical 200W 12v Meanwell PSU so it doesn't have a PCIe output. I need to investigate if I can power the card directly from that or if I need to bite the bullet and purchase an HDPLEX.

Thankfully for some reason, there's a lot of this card in pretty much every local retailers here in Middle-Europe and the price is kinda okay-ish too, in a sense that while everything is always higher priced than MSRP, this one is pretty much on it's normal price. I'm very tempted to get one to upgrade from my 2060.

I've been looking for cases, and there are several pretty nice ones. All fit an LP card of this length, but all block it's airflow path - either on both sides or at least one. So despite there's ventilation to inhale air for the fans, as it gets exhausted by the vertical fins, they get blocked and it gets trapped in the case. But there's one which seems to be ideal - the A24-v5.

It has ventilation for the gpu to exhaust the hot air at the front and in the back. too. Black colored button would've been better though.

The pics doesn't seem to load in this forum, despite them being inserted properly for some reason, but you can click on the fail-icons too to see them as I added the links just in case. It seemingly has enough space to accomodate longer LP gpu's, a flex-atx psu (maybe a HDPlex 250w GaN can be used too) and even two slim fans on top. It also has thick 3mm aluminium panels.
Btw, there's literally ZERO coverage of this case anywehe on the internet though. Not a single build to be found. I've seen the A24-v3 which is a gpu-less APU case, but not this one..

nice case, but what is it always with the lack of ANY IO on the front?
Especially when there is plenty of space left?

Fair point, yet it does not bother me too much. MAybe that rectangle under the power button is a usb port.
But better airflow and temps are more important, especially since I will have convenient access to the IO of the mobo. Being able to forget the riser cable is also a plus.
