My goal is 3.9 ghz on the 1700 or 1700x (in hopes of a better bin) and 3200mhz with proper ram. Did the korean one manage 3200 ? and the graphs showd only 3.8

The Korean one overclocked a 1600x to 3.8. I don't think I recall reading why they stopped there exactly, so not sure if that's a limit of the sample or the board. I read another review (something eastern european if I recall correctly) that got their (G.SKILL) RAM to 3400-ish.

EDIT: Here it is: http://lab501.ro/placi-de-baza/gigabyte-ab350n-gaming-wifi-mini-itx-pentru-ryzen. They were even able to manage 3733 on somewhat looser timings.

I was speed reading cause I'm going to bed, but I'm definitely preordering it tomorrow

Tomorrow is gonna be a busy day.
I am gonna have to hunt down the guy that made that article to tell me which RAM he used exactly.

Some of the fast low cas Predator ram might be Sammy B.

From what I've read if you get 3200 c14 ram it's likely Samsung B. Any kit advertising speed over 3200 are likely B dies as well. Sadly it's all really pricey.

I have 16gb GSkill Ripjaw V in 2 x8g sticks and it's 3200 CL 16. It shows as Hynix Simgle rank. It ran at 2933 with no issue on my MSI B350. 3200 on my Buddies AsRock K4 with the latest bios. Hoping for the same on the AsRock x370 itx.

Also it was 124 USD from NewEgg so decently priced. Probably not going to get it over 3200 though.

i wrote a comment on that Romanian review's comment section to ask the Author if he could test some more mainstream ram kits and not just b-die.

Or at least give some advice.

Also, newegg and other retailers are writing that ram performance will vary with cpu? Do they mean model or just luck of the draw, in which case would a 1700x since it is better binned than the 1700 offer a higher chance to reach stable higher ram clocks?

The latest F2 bios is supposed to include AGESA 1.0.0.6 updates which allow for 4000MHz RAM support ... anyone find any tests / results for that ?

The only person that I've seen run 4000MHz on ryzen did it with a r5 1400 underclocked to 800MHz and one 8GB stick of ram on one of the 5 or 6 motherboards that have bclk. The memory controller in the cpu just can't handle it.

I'm not really disappointed.
3200 is something you should aim for and 3600 is something you should be insanely proud of if you get it stable. And doing the research to achieve it is like a mini badge of honor

Lol i think the challenge should not be to get a 3200mhz kit working at 3600mhz just by loosening timings ... plenty of youtube video's on that ...
I think the challenge should be finding 3600 or 3866 or 4000 mhm sticks that will work with their tight intended timings with Ryzen
I believe that is what Agesa 1.0.0.6 was supposed to bring to the table .... 4ghz ram support .. doesn't seem like anyone's got it running yet

G.Skill Flare X Series DDR4 RAM (2 @ 8GB DIMMs); available at 3200/14, it is supposed to be the 'go-to' RAM for Ryzen...?
