I don't know........thats the problem right now. there is so much stattic on the web about whats good and whats not RAM wise.
Samsung B-Die being good is unanimous.
Problem is that there are many RAM sticks with the same series that can be samsung b die or other stuff.....
You would think that going for expensive RAM could solve all your problems but you have to be sure it is B-Die even there.

There are a few lists of what sticks are B-Die and what are not..but there is contradictory information in their comments everywhere....

I am near my wits end.

Dammit i just checked both of my kits and they are both Hynix. I've got some Trident Z and Corsair LPX memory :/
I don't really want to splash out for another memory kit... i might just wait till someone confirms that its running at 4000mhz on ryzen before i splash out the cash.

It just seems like still such a pain ..... so many months after launch.
It tempts me to just pick up my 6700k and put it into my ITX build instead of a 1700X

4000 mhz is not gonna happen if you ask me, even it it does it wont be good. not for current Ryzne.
3200 is already pretty damn good, and matches min fps with 7700 at 5ghz, and going to 3600 overtakes it.

Even with intel everything over 2400 is OC. It's all binned 2133 or 2400 DDR4 at the end of the day as far as I know. So getting 3200 and beyond is all oveclocking and never a sure thing. Obviously with XMP and good vender support we all get an easy button in the Bios for whatever the ram kit supports. Intel gets the love and AMD is catching up some with Ryzen. Shooting from the hip on my phone here.

Personally I feel one should shoot for 3200 at least CL 16 or better for as cheaply as possible. Enjoy your 6-8 core powerhouse CPU at an unprecedented price point. Thanks Team Red!

The problem with DDR4-3200 and CL16 is that it's almost always SK Hynix memory and not Samsung, while there are almost no DDR4-3200 CL14 DIMMs available from anybody else than Samsung. so I'd recommend, if you want DDR4-3200 to find a set with CL14 which should be Samsung when rated for 1.35V.

Yes indeed. Sammy B only it seems can hit the low cas 3200 and beyond 3200 speeds. Absolutely look for the CL 14 3200 modules or faster to get those.

My CL 16 3200 Ripjaw V is a Hynix based kit so I'm going to chuck it into the Asrock x370 itx and see how it goes.

Basically
If 2933 or maybe 3200 CL 16 is okay then one can save some cash vs chasing B die kits that are significantly more expensive. Arguably leaving some performance on the table perhaps.

Someone got the 3600 HOF modules running on the motherboard using the XMP profile, which is fantastic.
The motherboard does have AGESA 1.0.0.6 bios so memory compatibility should improve over time i guess.
I bought these 3200 sticks from Newegg the other day, they were 11% off, and look like nice AMD style ram from Team, who like to use Samsung B-die :)
I'm hoping they will be Sammy B, timings are 14-14-14-31

I did some research before buying mine and they're exactly the same as what you posted here ... but mine are Red .... because .... they were 11% cheaper than the black ones :D hahaha

But yeah on various forums they say its Sammy B-die. I'll let you know when i get mine, should be within the next few days.

@LukeD
Should I bite the bullet on this then?
The description is soooo enticing, it's like they know what I want to do with them.

@LukeD

Yeah, it is 177 GBP for me, but its still a better deal than other samsung b-die 3200mhz cl14.

Question is wheter it is worth it to pay 30 GBP more for 3600mhz cl16.

Edit: My board was delayed :( because they didn't get the stock as scheduled. Don't know when I will receive it.

So i got the 3200 sticks because they are supposed to work out of the box :)

But i also got these, they are rated at 4000 mhz, also samsung b-die and are supposed to overclock beyond 4000. I'm hoping these will be my test sticks to get 3600 mhz and higher. Agesa 1.0.0.6 was supposed to add 4000 mhz memory support but I'm yet to read anyone actually getting it running:

Team T-Force XTREEM 16GB (2 x 8GB) 288-Pin DDR4 SDRAM DDR4 4000 (PC4 32000) Desktop Memory Model TXD416G4000HC18EDC01

Someone posted this on Newegg:

Last note: CMK16GX4M2B3000C15 works @ 2933 out of the box.

And I believe those are Hynix chips

If I couldn't catch it live with the time zone difference / work I certainly would watch the upload!
