Hmmm i never have to pay VAT or import duty when I buy stuff and it gets shipped to Australia....
Well anything below $1000 AUD at least, above that I pay duty.

Make the most of it whilst it lasts. Rick Heart, DJ's, Myer, Harvey Norman, etc have been campaigning in the halls of government house and the studios of channel 7/9/10 for years to shut this down or at the very least have GST applied to imports (goods and service tax, essentially the same thing as VAT). W/ the deficit levy having just been lifted and the recent application of GST to "digital goods and services" (The reason Netflix just got more expensive) we might finally see it happen, easy way to raise revenue.
