SFF Forum Giveaway: Win an ASRock Fatal1ty X370-Gaming ITX/AC, or a surprise swag package!

Not open for further replies.
Apologies for the wait on this, everyone, but I think you'll agree that it has been worth it! As was previously announced a few weeks ago, I'm excited to launch our first-ever giveaway of a motherboard, and a really solid one at that: the ASRock Fatal1ty X370-Gaming ITX/AC.

John's excellent review of this board (alongside its sibling AB350 variant) is available here. As of this posting, this board is available on Amazon for a tad below $160. Overall, the board is an excellent entry into the AM4 ITX space, and makes for a solid platform with which to construct a Ryzen rig. We can't wait to send it along to a good home.

But wait, there's more! We're breaking open the SFF Network Swag Vault (read: @PlayfulPhoenix's closet) and drawing from some of the piles of gear that we received from companies during Computex 2017. We have three swag packages ready to ship that contain a selection gear from the likes of Biostar, Corsair, FSP, Noctua, SilverStone, and Zotac. A motherboard they may not be, but some of this stuff is pretty neat - my particular favorite has to be the miniature Noctua fan keychains, though!

So how do you enter the giveaway? Simple: just post on this thread, sharing your current build or one you're planning to create! Using Random.org, we will select our winners at 8PM EST on October 20th.

This giveaway is open worldwide, except where prohibited. No purchase necessary, and the usual T+C's apply.

Rig is in the sig.

If I am fortunate and win the motherboard, I'll be forced to "upgrade" to a Ryzen (I'll build out a SFF desktop for my wife with the KLi5, probably in an Antec ISK or similar).

The Ryzen Raven is my current transportable gaming and workstation system that I tote as carry-on luggage in my travels across the country.

PCPartPicker Completed Build:
https://pcpartpicker.com/b/84NQzy

CPU: AMD - Ryzen 7 1700 3.0GHz 8-Core Processor at 3.8 GHz and 1.3825V
CPU Cooler: ID-COOLING - IS-60 53.6 CFM CPU Cooler, featuring upgraded Delta AFC1212D-PWM 113.1 CFM 120mm Fan and mounted with Arctic Silver 5 thermal interface material
Motherboard: ASRock - AB350 Gaming-ITX/ac Mini ITX AM4 Motherboard
Memory: G.Skill - NT Series 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR4-2400
Storage: Samsung - 850 EVO-Series 500GB 2.5" Solid State Drive
Video Card: Asus - GeForce GTX 1080 8GB ROG STRIX Video Card (Flashed to STRIX-GTX1080-O8G-GAMING)
Case: Silverstone - RVZ02B HTPC Case
Power Supply: Enermax - REVOLUTION SFX 650W 80+ Gold Certified Fully-Modular SFX Power Supply
Optical Drive: Panasonic UJ-160 (12.7mm Slim Blu-ray Combo Drive)

Besides the CPU cooler that had some shipping costs incurred in order to meet time and travel constraints, I was so fortunate and blessed to snag so many discounts and freebies along the way from NewEgg, Micro Center, and Amazon. Probably the best deal by far was the Samsung 850 EVO I received as a totally unexpected complimentary gift for being a valued Amazon customer.

Carrying Case: Cabin Max Metz Extra Backpack

Monitor: Surface Pro 4 i7, via a gigabit LAN crossover connection and Moonlight Streaming at native resolution (2736x1824) as a manually entered custom configured resolution

Potential Upgrades Down the Line:
Optical Drive: LG BU50N (for 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray playback)
Memory: 32GB (2 x 16 GB) DDR4-3200 or faster
Storage: Samsung 960 EVO Series - 500GB NVMe - M.2 Internal SSD
CPU Cooler: KMPKT Heatsink and Fan

I quite like my build right now :) it's evolved a lot over time, I think I've been using this same motherboard for 4-5 years now. Most of the build is made of used/refurbished parts.

https://pcpartpicker.com/user/natedawg72/saved/W6VWXL

CPU: i7 3770. It can do 4.1ghz because of the wonderful partial-unlock feature lga1155 had, currently stock -.1v. I delidded this guy 3 times during the last week or two, it became my practice dummy haha! Used.
HSF: Scythe Big Shuriken 2 Rev B. Latest addition to the build, I'm quite happy with it. It's an extremely snug fit in every way possible, pretty much touches the motherboards vrm daughterboard and barely fits in the case. Used.
Motherboard: Asus P8Z77i deluxe. My least favorite part of the build actually, I only do mild overclock now and the vrm daughterboard has frequently been a pain to work around with cases and heatsinks. Refurbished.
Ram: 16gb Kingston furyx black I believe. Used.
SSD: 250gb Crucial M500. One of the 2 parts purchased new in this build. I've been using it for awhile. New.
HDD: 1tb 2.5" 5400rpm I think. I pulled this from a laptop that received an SSD boot drive, it stores my games now.
GPU: EVGA GTX 1080 SC. Got it cheap because of damage, works fine. Slot bracket got bent pretty badly so I had to straighten it out with a rubber mallet. Refurbished/used.
PSU: Corsair SF450. Really like this power supply, the fan rarely even spins up with how I used my PC. New.
Case: Fractal Design Node 202. Nice slim case. Used.

Edited because I type too much.

Planning a December Build for a customer

Case: CustomMOD Slim ITX (refinished and repainted)
PSU: G-Unique & 400W Dell power brick
CPU: i7 8700K
Mobo: ASUS ROG Strix Z370i
Memory: 32GB Corsair Vengeance LPX DDR4 @ 3000
GPU: Unknown at this point. Looking at possibly AMD Vega Nano or Geforce 1070 GTX Ti
(If none of them have a SFF release by Dec, then probably a MSI/Gigabyte 1070 GTX ITX verison)
HD/SSD/M.2: Samsung Pro 960 512GB M.2
Monitor: Samsung C27HG70

Current Build:
Intel i5-6500
Gigabyte H170-DS3H
Curcial 8GB DDR4-2133
Asus GTX1070 Dual OC
Curcial MX300 750GB
Thermaltake Versa H15
Rosewill 650W PSU

Planned Build

AMD R5 1600
Gigabyte AB350 ITX
G.Skill 16GB 3200MHz
Asus GTX1070 Dual OC/ MSI Aero ITX GTX1070
Samsung M.2 500GB
Crucial MX300 750GB
Corsair SF600
And the case? Well that's still up in the air. If I could get a good deal on an ITX 1070, I'd go for something like an LZ7 or Firewolfy's Mi-6 case, otherwise it's looking like a SG05/SG13.
