Have there ever been LP cards greater than 75W? Most specs I'm seeing are of 1650 being 75W, and if 1650ti has a higher wattage, I doubt we will see a LP version.

The 1050 and 1050 Ti are both rated at 75W with the Ti having slightly lower clock speeds.

So it's possible it may be the same for both the 1650 and 1650 Ti.

the PCIe specification limits power draw from the socket (not the PSU power connector) to 75W, so anything above 75W will need a power connector

For what it's worth, a slide on the 1650's relative performance appears to have leaked. (A site called Tech Critter has the details.) It shows the 1650 comparing favorably against the 1050 ti (and a few other Nvidia cards) in a handful of games.

The 1650 bars are green, the 1050 ti bars are gray.

Okay EVGA. Their triple slot coolers were kind of interesting on a higher power card. But on 75W card? What the hell are they thinking? 4 out of 6 cards of EVGA's 1650 linup are triple slot. o_O

Absolute madness! At least they have some 202mm long dual slot models, but they still don't have any true dual slot ITX length cards for this generation, crazy.

Maybe the previous gen dual slot ITX cards didn't sell well enough so they're trying something different.

To be fair, their previous single fan, small GTX1060 models were not renowned for their cooling capability. This is probably a bit of an overcorrection from last gen, though.

I think it depended on whether you went for the standard model with the radial style heatsink, or the SC models with the much more dense finned heatsinks, those performed very well.

From the first reviews, the GTX1650 is somewhere between a 1050Ti and a 1060 3GB, draws 73w and costs roughly 160/170€...

Nothing really exciting...

Just as overpriced as the 1050ti. Still the best performance for the power we have seen. If there is a 1650ti I fear it will be too close to 200 and a 1660 is better for the $. Obviously needs more power though..

Price is the real issue for me. Between 170 and 210€ for what is an entry GPU .... Customer is paying for the lack of competition

can we sanity check Guru3D's numbers here? apparently it's the same ballpark price with a RX570 these days, so like being so far under it is frankly baffling o_o

Microcenter has a Power Color 570 for $121 brand new right now. Other than size or power requirements the rx 570 is still the cheapest true gaming card for the money. Sadly like 3 years later.. Nvidia isn’t making any performance bracket cheaper. With the mind share they have they don’t see the need I suppose.

Well, but yeah! I don't currently have a single machine that can handle an rx570. But I have at least three (and will probably be getting more) that can handle a low-profile, 75w card.

Nvidia can get away with a premium price because Nvidia's cards can play in areas where AMD doesn't compete.

I wonder if Nvidia is going to use GDDR6 to meet a 75W power goal with the inevitable GTX1650Ti or is the GTX1650 launching first because the GTX1650Ti will draw more power than the 75W slot limit can handle?

Though as binned silicon, it's possible its power draw is not far off a full 1024 core TU117 chip.

Also looking at that Guru3D review, it seems possible the GDDR5 is being run at 1.55V, unless if my ability to infer unwritten data from datasheets is very poor.
