CPU Cooler is the IS-47k from ID-Cooling (https://www.idcooling.com/product/detail?id=205&name=IS-47K).

Based on the SFF Master List, there are no ram limitations with this cooler.

My comments about the cable length is just me being nitpicky at most and I can always try finding a similar cable with shorter length online. Personally, I'd like to order some custom PSU cables to make my build look cleaner, but that's for another time :)
I'm silly...I owned the same heatsink with the IS-60 EVO (2 fans, 1 120mm on top + 1 92mm at the bottom). My memories are simple : the heatsink of IS-47XT is too restritive and the bottom fan is pretty noisy..:) It was based on my CL-530 setup.

Good point, I might revisit it with my U-ITX setup, thanks!

Thanks for your comment! The GPU does look very nice inside the case.

I see... I'm having a hard time imagining how it would interfere with the panel screws, maybe I'll try buying some shorter standoffs online to see if it really doesn't fit. Or if you have a drawing/picture, that would be nice as well.

As for the AC cable, I'll just try to experiment with different lengths. Just want to make my build look cleaner in the future :)

Np, hopefully it is visible from here:

I have a 60mm slim fan. Thought about adding another but I don't think it moves that much air. The GPU fans move way more air out of the case. Might just return it.
In fact I assume those tiny fans are useless in terms of thermal.
As the U-ITX is an pretty open frame, heat is evacuated anyway with little to no risk of hot air recycling.

In closed case like CL530 or Node 202, exhaust hot air was a must. In SFFtime cases, it is clearly not a concern.

Down side of this opened architecture is mostly dust accumulation..:D

I have it in an enclosed media console area with only the front open and what actually helped best was a USB fan from the back of the cabinet blowing to the front. Computer was very hot without the USB fan.

USB Fan, nice trick to exhaust hot air..:)

U-ITX is a good heater..:)

Will there be an update here in this thread or anywhere else? I needs me one of these u-itx cases. Thank you!

5090 founders looks like it will fit well 👍

It will fit and I hope it will also be able to work at full power :)
From today's reviews we can assume the following :
  • Gen 4 Riser is not a roadblock at all (1% loss versus Gen 5)
  • Power consumption of the RTX 5090 is around 500W under gaming...I'm curious to see the impact on the thermals of others components.
  • Corsair SF1000 PSU is a must
  • Unforeseen issue is the coil whine that could be really important (reported in several reviews)
More to be seen!

I am thinking I will buy it with the gen 4 riser (as these things on their own are moderately useful in the parts bin) or if an option exists please let me purchase with no riser, and get my own $100 gen 5 riser just to have the bandwidth for ML workloads. The sheer power draw on these is impressive. I was imagining it wouldn't be much more than Ada but given the non-silicon-process-upgrade it really highlights how balls efficient Ada already is that there is essentially zero uplift on efficiency. Since the power draw is confirmed (575W furmark lol) the SF750 will indeed be getting axed which is kind of sad but I'm here for it. It's such a nice PSU. Don't regret picking up two of them.

The real sad news is it won't be looking like anyone will be able to pick up a used 4090 for $1k or even $1200. 4080 prices might not even budge much considering how small of a gain the 5080 is over it, and with the absurd AIB pricing. The hope is that for all these months they have been producing and collecting stock for 5090 and 5080 so that many of us who want one can get one. The FE pricing is okay, the AIB pricing is cuckoo.

Be careful of the gen 5 mechanical compatibility vs gen 4. I made some search with @riba2233 support and I was unable to find a compatible riser.
All is related to the gen 5 connector size, see below.

Thank you very much for calling out the compatibility concern. I would also be fine going with 4.0 temporarily and eventually find an upgrade once they become more commonplace. The extra 32GB/s of bandwidth is not trivial, of course games don't benefit from it yet but we need all the bandwidth we can get to make a proper workstation.

I particularly like my 4.0 flexy riser which has all independent wires, used in my Velka 7 for its unorthodox twisted sandwich GPU mount, and would pay a premium for such a type of cable if one will be forthcoming in 5.0 at some point.

I thought i was being careful, but the long hours of planning and re/dis-assembling wears you down. I damaged the aforementioned nice riser cable on the uber tight velka 7 assembly sliding the machine into the case frame. But thankfully went to check on it and insulated it with Kapton, so I never suffered a catastrophic short circuit. So a stiff riser cable has its benefits too... anyway I love using kapton every chance I get. Makes me feel more connected to the Webb Telescope.

Interesting video on the positive effect of reducing power budget (-30%) of the RTX 5090 FE

At -30% power target, power consumption of the RTX 5090 FE is reaching the power consumption of the RTX 4090 FE stock ~400W, way better than this 550W stock...
In terms of performance hit, it is -12% vs stock, but still +27% over RTX 5090 FE!

Hello! Wanted to check if this case could fit the X570 Mini-DTX Asus motherboard? Planning a 5090 FE build in the future. My traditional case layout currently won’t cut it with the heatsink design on the GPU.

Hi, it looks like it should fit. I won't guarantee it because I don't have exact models yet, but if you use a 2slot GPU there is nothing below the bottom of an ITX board so it looks ok.

I'm trying to figure out what is the performance of the RTX 5090 FE and here are good elements of comparison versus AIB version :
Hardware unboxed 5090 FE vs MSI Suprim : except the size, MSI suprim is way way quieter & cooler. 5090 FE has noticeable coil whine ase mentionned by many reviewers

Techpowerup 5090FE versus many others. Again MSI Suprim shines and the FE model is not that good, especially in terms of noise.

Despite some "questionable" reviewers stating RTX 5090 FE remains quiet I would assume RTX 5090 FE is pretty loud and has noticeable (up to very annoyable) coil whine..:(
