I edited my post but I think I understand what you are trying and it does work in other scenarios (ITX with one psu for board + 2nd psu for card 8pins)
Kind of expensive just for a test but definitely worth it if it works. It could enable some extremely small external psu builds with the slimq gan charger.

I am using this realtek RTL9210B i bought from aliexpress and i connected it to 2021 Hp spectre x360 with Intel Iris xe and i71155g7 (13,3 Inch)

That doesn't work. You need a real Thunderbolt (40Gbps) compatible M.2 adapter/ SSD enclosure. They usually sell for around 100 bucks.

For example:

I've been looking for quite a while now, and I haven't been able to find a generic TB4 compatible m.2 adapter anywhere. Do you know where I can find the module and maybe not a fully enclosed adapter (like the original project on here)?

you need to look for Thunderbolt 3 / 40Gbps M.2 SSD enclosures, not for the bare module...

here are some examples that should work:

SABRENT SSD M.2 Enclosure, Thunderbolt 3 SSD Docking Station USB C Aluminium External M2 NVMe Adapter, Tool-free, with Cooling Pad, Supports 2242, 2260, 2280, Thunderbolt Cable Included: Amazon.de: Computer & Accessories

OWC Envoy Express Thunderbolt 3 NVMe SSD drive enclosure Black: Amazon.de: Computer & Accessories

note: USB3, 10Gbps, 20Gbps adapters won't work

also take care with the newer Thunderbolt 4 / USB 4.0 adapters ... they have an additional controller (e.g. JMS583) to switch between USB / Thunderbolt for backwards compatibility and in my tests they didn't work or would cause issues

I figured I would build something like your project, but with a Tesla P4 as I have an extra and that seems to get better results than a 1650. The issue will be cooling the card, but I should be able to duct in a couple 40mm fans to blow air across the heatsink (thingiverse has some ducts that are already designed and ready to be printed and the P4 can be had on eBay for around $90 if you wanted to get one).

Instead of buying a low profile mini gtx 1650 like was used here the faster memory of the Tesla P4 card I have an extra here and it is better as an eGPU.

Use two of these 12v battery holders (in parallel).

Then this two pack of 6 Ah batteries with a charger

The same ADT M.2 to x16 riser you used

This M.2 to TH3 adapter

Two 40mm fans

I don't have a laser cutter to cut the aluminum so I figured on just using a project box.

The project box is nearly twice as deep as what you had so I could probably work in a switch to switch between a wall wart plug and the batteries.

Oh, battery powered eGPU ... sounds cool! although I think two 40mm Noctuas are not enough to keep the P4 cool.

I'm using this turbo blower with a modded A2000 (single slot) and it works very well:

I would need to figure out a filter/cover for a blower like that since the blower will be outside the project box. If I mount the blower perpendicular to the P4 and then use a plastic shroud to route the air at 90 degrees do you think the turn will slow down the air too much?

I also figured I might need a voltage regulator like this one. (given the varying voltage from batteries) https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B078Q1624B What do you think?

Your project is very cool. I'm reproducing it myself based on the files you distributed, and I'm curious about the model name of the power switch and DC socket you used.

Nothing special, you can find them on Amazon, ebay, etc...

PS: the switch has no function, I wanted to use it to switch power on and off but this didn't work with the PicoBox unit.

If possible, could you show me the exact wiring structure of the picobox power supply in a picture?

Just tried to find photos of mine when it was running, but I'm fairly sure it's EPS output (i.e. 4x12V 4xGND - crucially NOT a PCIe connector)
The input pinout I'd have to check
