Mature. I'll be on my best behaviour from now on!
I opted for an easily understandable message, because image is worth a thousand words and because I'm quite fed up with stuff like the clone or patent mess as of late.
Mature. I'll be on my best behaviour from now on!
The reason being is the 9900K runs even hotter. You will thermal throttle or even experience thermal shutdown. An AIO is basically required unless you downclock it or you manually lower its target TDP in the BIOS.I mean, if the temps are under prime at 3.7ghz around 85 degrees with the 2700X and the L12S, why not with the 9900K?
I want to test the limit of the case, and the limit of the L12S!I think @fabio knows what he is doing. He is just exploring the maximum limit of the case.
Thanks man for this update!
Could you try the first scenario, so no fans above, panel on, and the CPU fan in EXHAUST, pushing air through the radiator to the outside???
Exactly that!Just to clarify: You'd like me to try no top hat, and L9i pushing air out of the side panel instead of pulling in?
That gives me another idea too; when I get the 15mm fans, I'll try 1.) bottom intake/CPU cooler exhaust, 2.) Top intake/CPU Exhaust.
Exactly that!
And in your case as well, Intake from the L9i, and exhaust bottom or top.
Thank you, man! Will do, then when the Big Shuriken shows up on Sunday, I'l work on 1-to-1 comparisons for all the specced configurations there too.
Please let us know of the result, I am interested to know also. I am breaking out in a cold sweat . Maybe I have designed a Porsche here, and it is test run like a F1.Thank you, man!
Maybe this night I can try the 9900K with the L12S, stock panel, and new panels!
Actually, I thought it was a Bloodhound SSC.Maybe I have designed a Porsche here
First of all, you're using the wrong stock screws. You need to use the flat headed ones for this area. There only 4 flat head screws that come with the case. The rest are round heads.I have a simple mod to share. I just got my MonsterBolts M3 screws that I had ordered through Amazon ( https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07981X3QQ/?tag=theminutiae-20 ). They are far and away much better quality than the stock screws. The stock screws’ slots bow and wear very easily. These are much more smoothly formed, premium looking and strong and sturdy. They actually screw in more smoothly and firmly as well. See here.

I have counted wrongly and may have not included enough flat head screws. But I will pack more of those in the future. Use round headed screws wherever you don't need to fit flush with the surface. And in any case, those screws are really ubiquitous, with easy modding and finding extras/replacement in mind.I have a simple mod to share. Actually, these are the stock flat ones. The round or bulbous-shaped ones I use solely for the feet and the motherboard mounting. As you noticed, though, the stock flat M3 screws are not as perfectly flat as the MonsterBolts ones I just received. These MonsterBolts screws so strong and precisely formed that they actually grip firmly to the screw driver bit. Very high quality. I highly recommend them. I can try taking a side profile shot later so you can see that I am indeed using the appropriate screws.Fir

With that said, the stock flat heads fits perfectly, in that they sit recessed with the hole and the panel. The Monsterbolts one above looks like they sit above the panel- thus the top panel won't sit perfectly flushed.
Agreed. This is already solid start to an excellent product line. Line upon line, little by little as they say.
By the way, I will be publishing the Corsair H100i RGB Platinum performance results later today. The bottom line is there is an approximate 10-15 degree temperature improvement with this AiO.
Quick question: if I purchase on CableMod, what lengths of custom cables should I order for this case? I have an ASUS ROG STRIX X470-I GAMING. I have never purchased custom cables before. Besides the motherboard power connectors, I will need (2) eight pin power connectors for my video card, (1) SATA power connector for an SSD on the lower 2.5” drive mount, and (1) SATA power connector for the Corsair H100i RGB Platinum AiO. At least some tips in ensuring the proper lengths would be helpful. Thanks!
Or you can order this, should be ok!
The problem with CableMod is that you cannot go under certain length! But should be ok!

Cool! Didn't know that!!! Thanks a lot @loader963 !Side note here: I’m late to the party but cable mod will make shorter cables on request. I had to email them before purchase and ask them. Then after purchase I detailed my lengths and they took care of me. And pslatecustoms looks like they are awesome but haven’t had a chance to use them yet.
Edit: firsthand experience as they did the cables in my Cerberus x and was very happy with the results.
