Looks like a Toyota Lexcen (i.e. rebadged VR Holden Commodore) to me but idk

I'll give it to you @SFFMunkee - close enough. It's a Holden Commodore VS, a "Royale". Spec'd with an Opel 2.5L V6 engine instead of the typical Buick 3800 V6, and designated for export to Malaysia and Singapore only (not for Aus market). As Singapore was about to get hit by the Asian Financial Crisis of 1998, the final batch ordered was shipped to NZ instead, as they weren't road legal in Aus.
