Good news for those that pre-ordered Gemcases’ tiny C9 4.4. Gemcases announced on the Small Form Factor Network forums that a metal production partner has been found. According to the post, Gemcases is now expecting the first batch to begin production in approximately two weeks. Additionally, Gemcases stated that they will have updates soon about the wood oil color,and more precise production information.
For those that are unaware of the project, Gemcases’s C9 4.4L is a unique wood-fronted case designed around 37mm CPU coolers, low profile 2-slot GPUs, and Flex ATX PSUs. While the C9’s look is similar to a few other designs, it differs by featuring two 92x25mm top mounted exhaust fans, and different internal layouts. Most cases of this size eschew exhaust fans in favor size reduction at the cost of thermal performance, or only mount low profile fans which have less than ideal noise profiles.
