I know there's a few people who watch this thread that speak Chinese - could any of you help with this question:

I'm looking at some of the customized Flex ATX units on Taobao, like this one: https://item.taobao.com/item.htm?id=556183983991

There seem to be four options for type of cable - 短模组+硅胶线一套, 短模组+镀银线一套, 内改硅胶线一套 and 内改镀银线一套 - which I think translate to modular with silicone insulated wire, modular with silver wire (I suspect this just means clear plastic insulation?), internal with silicone wire, and internal with silver wire.

There are also four options for power supply model - 台达额定400w金牌电源FELX 二手8-9新, 台达500w白金版电源FLEX 二手9新, 台达额定400w金牌电源FELX 全新, 台达额定400w金牌电源FELX 二手99新. I'm struggling to tell the difference between the 400W options. Are some of them used/refurbished? What does the 8-9, 9, 99 mean?

If you load the link from Taobao into Superbuy.com it will give you an English translation for the product.

Short Module + silicone line
Short Module + silver plate wire
Internally modified silicone wire
Internally modified silver plate wire.

二手8-9新 = used/2nd hand, 80-90% new
二手99新 = used/2nd hand, 99% new
全新 = brand new

For the option of silver plated wire, 4 colours are available:- transparent/clear, red , black and blue.

And, 模组 is better translated as 'modular' (vs 'module'). That is, a modular PSU (vs non-modular).

Thanks for the help! Yes, the modular aspect of it is what interests me.

What does it mean for a power supply to be 99% or 90% used/new? As in it's been used for 1% or 10% of it's expected lifetime?

The different colors don't seem to be an option at checkout. Is that something that would be mentioned as a comment during the purchase? (I guess I should ask my shipping agent about it.)

The seller states that ''7-day returnable and exchangeable''.
So, I would imagine he has received back some sold units from buyers within that 7-day period and he rated these units as 80-90% or 90% or 99% new. I do not think it is related to the life expectancy of the unit but to the aesthetic. 99% would be like an open-box while 80-90% might have a few scratches on the unit's paint. That is my guess.

If you are buying through an agent, I think it is best that you ask him.
I get this information right off that product page.

B. Cable colour:
1. silicone cable has red, white, black....
2. silver plated cable has clear, red, black , blue

Oh, right, that makes total sense about the returned units.

Thanks @tinyitx and everyone else for the help :D

Need help with this case:

Planning on cramming in a GTX 1070 / 1080 mini into a SFF case, looking at these 2:

1) https://item.taobao.com/item.htm?spm=a21wu.10013406.0.0.501761e2Vwi1wu&id=579651581042
1st choice, max length is 200mm, looks like it can fit a Galax 1070 mini (195mm). Some of the marketing images look like it can fit a dual fan card, but user reviews with photos show only smaller cards (GTX 1060 / 1070 mini / 1080 mini).

Appreciate if anyone has had any experience with this case.
Thanks!

It should be 1050 from gigabyte which is only 191mm in length.

I really like Metalfish's Metal Solid and Metal Gear cases, they lookalike old iMac Pro but way smaller.

I've been eyeing it a lot. But the reviews aren't impressive, it comes up multiple times that quality is inconsistent, panels don't allign perfectly, etc.

145 USD, no case, no power supply, it's available on amazon and aliexpress too but more expensive (around 180 - 200)
https://world.taobao.com/item/562199114522.htm

It's still too expensive, except you're interested in this product for the DIY project, like creating:
-low profile PCI-E card dock
-1 slot PCI-E card dock
I think it's possible to break the limit of SFF graphics card dock but with internal power supply, if Aorus Gaming Box or Zotac AMP Box Mini isn't small enough for you but still want non-soldered/non-MXM dGPU.

EDIT: Just rough calculation, with 150W AC-DC adapter (71x171x40mm), LP 2 slots graphics card, the case volume just ~1.6 litres, not forgetting the room for wiring and the TB3 board

Come on China, I expect you to release an affordable Thunderbolt 3 GPU dock, like 100 USD with power supply and case.

6.5 - 35 USD, PCI-E riser with mounting, like the current trend in some ATX cases
