Good that you got it to work.
I tried using internal antennas on my Node 202, which has a plastic shell, and the internal metal frame was still causing too much interference, so I hadn't though a fully metal case might not.

Hello guys,

I have been a fan of the s4 mini for along time and just decided to build a pc in it for a friend. He wants an entry level pc so the cpu will be an amd ryzen 3 1200 while the gpu will be Radeon RX 550 2gb. I have done my research regarding this case but could not figure the power supply choice. I want an internal Ac-dc like the HDPLEX with the DC-DC combo. Will 160W be enough for this small build? Are there any alternatives for the HDPLEX since it is currently out of stock?

160W is plenty.

Not sure if an r3 1200 + 2gb rx550 is any good compared to an 2400g though... slightly better graphics but how much pricier?

Regarding psu choice, try meanwell 200 and minibox pico 160XT. But mind you this is the thread for S4M-C (not produced anymore) and AFAIK meanwell 200 doesn't fit it. Are you thinking of S4M (aka Skyreach Mini, currently on production via sfflab)?

The HdPlex 160w combo should work just fine. I believe a new version of it is on the way soon. This may be why it’s out of stock. If you email Larry at HDPlex he will reply.

My s4 has the 160w psw with the HdPlex 400w dc unit powering a Ryzen 1400,1050ti, m.2 is drive and 2.5in 1tb spinner with no issues.

Worked well with a 1600 and 2600 cpu also.

Yesterday I finally bit the bullet and drilled 6 holes into my drive bracket enabling me to install 2 drives properly when my internal brick blocks 2 holes off it making me had to 'float' both of them before...

Did not countersunk the holes since my stepdrill bit doesn't play nice with my dremel.... if anyone wanna know, yes the side panel still sit flush even with 6 protruding screws in the drive bracket.

Yes, my apologies, I was referring to the S4M.

What would you recommend for a ~900$ build? including the price of the S4M.

There is a sales subforum for that. How much do you want for that and where are you located?

So guess what I got in the mail last night...

The Alpenföhn BlackRidge (DAN's HSLP 48) which is actually 47mm high.

I will be waiting to purchase some Ultra Low Profille DDR4 for my build, which i have no clue where to start looking for it, lol. A little help?

I will be doing my usual barrage of thermal testing on this cooler, with the default fan and orientation, then the A9x14 and then the A12x14. hopefully it should fit nicely in the S4 Mini Classic #193.

i saw on your flickr album that you still have the hdplex 300?
you glued it also with epoxy? did it help with the coilwhine at all?
i did mine and it helped.
