I have managed to have a brickless & fanless build:

The color is contrasting between the back panel and the front panel.
The front panel is something I was able to get from clearance in former NFC website a long time ago.
I used Dremel to cut part of the front panel to allow Arctic Alpine 12 passive cooler to be exposed outside the case.
I do like the look of this, and undervolting + CPU frequency limiting can make the temperature manageable.

My PC parts are not the newest from today's standard, but I haven't had reasons to upgrade, either, because it is performing fine.

Looking to modernize my S4 Mini with more current hardware. Anyone recently upgraded? What parts did you end up using, currently in 2025

You could check if the 9060 XT fits. There are some models like the PowerColor Reaper Radeon RX 9060 XT, that are just 200mm long. Maybe your PSU will be the limit as it is 150W instead of 120W. But you can lower the Wattage by 8-10% in the driver, so the difference is not that big anymore.
