As far as i understand it you can pretty much force the use of the official driver, it's in the franenstein driver repoBoo - I assumed as much because 4060m chipset but was hopeful
Hey... look a this video for the driver problem.....
A trick could make the latest Nvidia game-ready driver work on this modded graphic card with mobile GPU chips without 3rd party software.
1: Download the latest driver on Nvidia's website
2: Extract it using 7zip or other unzip tools
3: Get to the device manager, right-click on the GPU device with an exclaimation mark, and select update driver
4: Select the correct inf in the unzip files and try to install the 1660ti max Q driver, if nothing goes wrong the driver should be able to recognize the GPU and the exclamation mark in the device manager should be gone
5: Double-click the driver you downloaded in step 1 and perform normal installation again. If not the DLSS function will be bugged and unable to turn on in the game.
Surely I did...Did you try this yourself? It doesn't work for me with the 4060m ...
Sorry for the late response.> Select the correct inf in the unzip files and try to install the 1660ti max Q driver
How to do this exactly? I tried a couple inf files, but no "1660ti max Q driver" shows up.
Is this the single slot 4060m you're talking about? I've just ordered an MS-01 and I'm looking at GPU options. I'm seriously considering an A4000 SFF and a slimline cooler from n3rdware but, if this 4060m is viable in the MS-01, I'd rather save a serious chunk of change.Surely I did...
I bought an RTX4060 from HuiTong and installed it into the Minisforum MS-01 with the latest driver as shown below.
Knew about this method because I've been hands-on with a modified RTX2080m before.
It shared the same method to get the windows to recognize the graphic card so I tried.
Fortunately, it works.
Here is what I could glean from online, but this is all a bit flaky as it is difficult to get good numbers:Is this the single slot 4060m you're talking about? I'd like to see the performance differential between the 4060M 70w and 90w models against each other and the desktop 4060.
I ordered an RTX 4000 SFF single slot cooler from N3rdware last night. By the time it arrives, I will have sold off enough stuff to buy the card. It's a lot of money, but I don't smoke or drink anymore so this is my only vice. They should call it the L'Oreal card, because I'm worth it.Here is what I could glean from online, but this is all a bit flaky as it is difficult to get good numbers:
Timespy:
Keep in mind the two in orange require custom drivers, but are single slot.
- RTX 3050 6GB at 70w = 5000
- A2000 at 70w = 6000
- Estimated 2000e = 6500
- 4060M at 70w = 7500
- 2000 Ada at 70w = 8500
- 4060M at 90W = 9000
- 4060 LP non M (2 slot) at 115w = 10,000
- 4000 Ada SFF (2 slot) at 70w = 10-11000
The 2000e shown in red is just an estimate from me as to the performance of the RTX 2000e based on what I could find online - there are no actual results in the Timespy database yet. I took about 75% performance of the 2000 Ada.
The others are double-slot, but obviously the two Ada models and the A2000 can be modified with a N3rdware cooler.
If you need a single slot card for the MS-01:
I know this is all a bit of a mess. Personally a used A2000 still looks like the best deal to me. I picked one up for < 200 euros a while back. I did then fry it. I have now fried 2. However, I had a lot of fun power modding them and doing all sorts of mean things to them. Great little cards.
- A2000 6GB with n3rdware cooler can be had for < 300 euros (used card)
- A2000 12GB with n3rdware cooler can be had for <380 euros (used card)
- 2000e Ada can be had for about 600-650 euroes (new card)
- 2000 Ada with n3rdware cooler can be had for about 700 euros (new) - I would guess you will have to underclock and power limit it to about 60w, so maybe lose 10-15% performance? Not sure whether it will end up being more like a 2000e, or a touch better?
Another interesting option may be to design a single slot cooler for the 3050 6GB (although the displayport adapter is on slot 2, so probably not possible to make it 1 slot).

The 4000 SFF easily out paces my 4060LP by 10-15%, in my tests anyway. Although this is on my MS-A1 over Oculink pcie 4.0 x4 - which really doesn't seem to hold either of them back, despite the apparent bandwidth limitations. Here is what I could glean from online, but this is all a bit flaky as it is difficult to get good numbers:

Shipping notification!!I ordered an RTX 4000 SFF single slot cooler from N3rdware last night.
I am still a little in doubt if the 12GB will be very beneficial?A2000 12GB with n3rdware cooler can be had for <380 euros (used card)

The trend atm seems that newer games especially need more VRAM.
But at a certain point you kinda hit a limit of just processing power as well, not being able to fill the VRAM fast enough.
What do you guys think?
