Just wanted to say this is awesome - keep up the small work! I, too, saw the MS-01 and wished there were better options, these are pretty rad.
I think this might actually be basically the option they have in their marketing materials :p

I've actually been on the lookout for a LP single-slot card for a JonsboN2 build, and thought I was going to just have to give up on it (or get a T1000, but probably not worth it) until I saw this, along with your other thread about modding a standard A2000 with a single-slot cooler. Very interesting!

However I see you say this card won't work with a desktop CPU... is that still the case, or was it due to the included drivers? (I saw there's a better driver available via github now?)

according to the manufacturer, it does work fine on:
  • all AMD platforms (mobile and desktop)
  • all Intel mobile platforms
  • Intel desktop platforms below 12th gen
I have only tested on AMD Desktop and Intel 13th Gen Mobile, so I can't say for sure if/what the issues are with later Intel desktop CPUs

My cpu is a 13600k so that's unfortunate. I would contact the manufacturer but the taobao site is... resistant to Google translate haha and I can't figure out how to set up a login let alone contact specific sellers.

I tried aliexpress on the off-chance they had a store there (Much easier to navigate) but no luck

They told me a Aliexpress store is in the works right now... when I know more I'll post it here.

Thanks, appreciate it. Seems the A2000 option is no longer listed but they have 3050 and 1050 on there. I can't message them to find out about the intel desktop stuff though. Will keep an eye out

Is the noise comparable to the ASL single slot GTX 1050? I believe you had used that card once.

Having a storefront for Aliexpress would be great for me, too. I do a lot of shopping there and would prefer to using SuperBuy/TaoBao.

Awesome, hopefully they get the AliExpress store going before or near whenever the Minisforum MS-01 orders ship out. I feel like Minisforum should partner with them and sell these. They did a YouTube video on their channel installing a single slot cooler on the A2000 as if they are available for sale somewhere

It's comparable to other single slot cards I had before (1050 / 1650 / RX6400). Biggest issue is that the fan is not temperature controlled (no PWM circuit on the card), so it requires some modding or fan replacement & FanControl software (see my post #1 and #12)

I feel like Minisforum should partner with them and sell these.

they are already working with Minisforum, the card was also shown by Minisforum at CES...

This is a single slot cooler for the Desktop A2000, developed by a Chinese Modder - you can find them on Goofish but need to ask someone in China to get one for you...

Seems the A2000 option is no longer listed

based on my feedback, they made a new cooler for the card, which works better for the Minisforum. I guess they are currently busy reworking their stock...

The new cooler looks way nicer, land works like a blower seems like
Hopefully they can retain the same design for the rtx 4060m card

Ah, same as on the ASL card, no PWM control. There are some ways to lower fan speed with a resistor cable mod, but I sold it sooner than I could have wanted to mod it. I don't expect low profile cards to be ultra silent. For me if it makes more of a wooshing sound with no definite pitch (like in many laptop fans) that is fine by me. My WX4100 is much more like that.

It's great that they got your feedback with the card. I see the rounded corners on the new cooler, does that make it easier to insert in the Minisforum? I saw a review of the case and they had some problems fitting in a LP GPU in the same way and had to remove extra parts than expected.

a resistor will just decrease the overall fan speed, so the card will likely overheat... I'd recommend a temperature controlled module like this:

which review was that? from what I've seen, this card should fit just fine. my biggest concern with the old heatsink and the MS01 was, that the fan would be completely blocked by the case cover...

Knowing very little about the card or fan - or anything really - I would have thought the curve would help direct airflow as well, reducing turbulence and backflow from the impellor tips.
But I'm not a physicist or fluid dynamics specialist.

It was the review from ServeTheHome. You can watch at the 7 minute mark where there are complaints about the recessed nub in the back interfering with some cards they installed (and they had tested many PCIe cards). For some of the cards they had to completely remove the entire plastic piece on the back of the case to get them installed.

from the other reviews I've seen and from Minisforum's own Installation videos, the card should fit just fine - not really sure what the ServeTheHome guy is complaining about other than the retention mechanism "could be better" XD

Do you know how linux support is for this modded card? Has the seller mentioned anything?

They didn't mention anything about Linux compatibility but seems FrankenDriver also has a Linux version...
