Hey all!

So I got a HDPlex 400watt PSU and I plan on running it on a bank of Lithium Iron Phosphate 12volt batteries. I will be using a DC to DC voltage regulator to step the voltage up from 12volt to 19volts.

I've got a 7.4mm x 5.0mm with pin power plug that the schematics show as compatible with this power supply.

My question is this. The plug has 3 wires and the step up regulator has 2 power wires. What would the 3rd wire on the power plug cable be connected to in order to get this all to run properly?

Thanks in advance yall!

The norm is
Red - positive
Black - ground

The third one I think is sense cable, some laptop battery chargers use it to determine whether higher wattage adaptors is being used and the cables rated for higher amperages.

So for your use case you most probably only need red and black, ignore the white.

Edit: take my reply with a grain of salt, if you're unsure get a multimeter then check if the outside of the barrell jack is indeed connected to black and the inside is connected to the red

I most definitely have a multi-meter. I will check what you mentioned.

When say the inside should be connected to red do you mean to the inner wall or the pin?
