Increase volume from 9.8L to 10.5L to support MSI Suprim X 30XX?

  • Yes, worth the trade off to be more compatible with components

  • No, not worth it b/c it is not better than the ROG 30XX, which fits now at <10L

I was getting interested in the T1 Reference, but now I'm concerned by this recent trend of turning Mini-ITX boards into fun-sized skyscrapers. For instance, see ASUS ROG Strix Z690-I Gaming WiFi and its (in)compatibility list by Noctua. Bloody hell, ASUS, what about the "Mini" part of "Mini-ITX" do you not understand...? /rant

@Wahaha360 Incidentally, I have a couple questions about the front-panel USB-C of the T1 v2.0:

1. Does the included cable support 20 Gb/s data rate (a.k.a. USB 3.2 Gen 2×2)? Wondering since at least three Z690 Mini-ITX boards seem to provide it via the header.

2. Can the cable be replaced with an off-the-shelf one? (E.g., with this.)

Wow, so much discussion here. Anyone knows when it will be available and where, please? Me and my friend have been waiting for this since we heard about it, it's one of the 3 cases sub10L , and one of the sub 10L cases that supports 240AIO, already got a4 with 645LT but want to get a 3900x/3950x so... 92mm tdp won't be enough, or will it undervolted?

No one knows when it will be available to buy yet. That remains to be announced closer to release.
As for where, formdworks.com. If you meant what countries it ships to, I can't say because I don't know

I've been keeping up with this thread pretty regularly, and been patiently waiting for v2.0. I was wondering with regards to tower vs reference vs sandwich though... what are the pros/cons of each? I know traditionally in SFF builds, sandwich has allowed for greater utilization of the interior space. The reason I'm asking is because with v1.1 sandwich was the only option and it made it easy, but I'd like to know the tradeoffs when choosing a version of the v2.0.

I currently have a 5900X, RTX 3080FE, and both are being cooled by a TX240 rad with dual NF-A12x25 Noctuas, using a DC-LT 40 and DC-LT 2 pump/mini-res. Earlier on in the thread I heard talk about the v2.0 maybe supporting a second TX240- is that still likely to be the case?

TLDR: Hoping to get some clarification on what the different config options will be for tower vs reference vs sandwich layout.

Same here, and I hope it will be a focal point of the pending reviews that W360 referenced in a reply to me upthread!

And re: your question about dual TX240 in v2.0: 2xTX240 in Sandwich layout was confirmed as an "officially supported" configuration from the getgo of this latest pending revision and I haven't heard anything about that changing. So I think you can rest easy there! The question will be what kinds of fans and airflow we can expect to feed them in Sandwich mode.

I understand some info will help decide between the different version, so see update below!

Not sure if this has already been answered elsewhere, but does the reference layout support 240mm radiators, or does it only have mounting for 280mm?

2021-10-30: T1 Configuration Comparison & ROG X570-C8I M.2 compatibility clarification.

Some of you want to know how the different T1 Configurations compare to each other, hopefully the table image above will answer some questions.

There are some concerns that the T1-Reference with C14S cooler will prevent M.2 SSD installation on the ROG X570-C8I, the image above should clear that up.

EDIT: updated the specifications image above.

With the new EK AIOs releasing - will the 61,9 mm Pump hight be an issue with 3 Slot Sandwich Mode ?

Yep, doubt that will fit. On v1.1 the clearance is 50mm in 3 slot mode. In v2.0 it's just a few mm wider, so not enough.

Do you have a link to those new AIOs? Can't seem to find them.

EK-NUCLEUS AIO CR240 VISION D-RGB (link)

Thanks for helping out :)

What about sandwich in 2 slot mode? EK and Corsair new 240 aios looks awesome, would be cool with the future tempered glass side.

Well yes, that shouldn't be a problem. May also fit with the 2.5 slot mode, maybe.

The 62mm tall EK Nucleus is pretty interesting with 2.75-Slot GPU in T1-Sandwich. 2.75Slot GPUs includes the ROG 30XX, EVGA FTW 30XX and MSI Gaming X Trio 30XX.

Depending on the motherboard, you should be able to use shorter motherboard standoff to squeeze out the extra few mm to make this AIO work.

We will get this AIO and test and make sure 😁

The configuration comparison lists the reference configuration as supporting a 6800xt, which is a 2.5 slot card. Is that correct? I was under the impression that the reference configuration was limited to 2 slot cards.

I believe the image shows 2.25-GPU Slot thick is the limit for T1-Ref

in t1-r GPU only support up to 110x320mm
but most of the cards these day exceed 110mm even in mid range 6700xt/3070

Ah yes, you are correct, I was just confused by the 6800xt being listed as compatible at the top.
In the highlights and features section,it does list the 6800XT. But perhaps it's a typo as only the 6800 non-XT would fit, right?

Sorry for unconfirmed info guys 🤦‍♂️

Typo likely. AMD 6800 at 2 slot should fit, need to get a 6800XT to confirm.

6800XT GPU is suppose to be 50mm thick, another person told me the back plate is around 5mm, so that leaves 45mm from back of PCB to the top of GPU shroud, 45mm should fit in T1-REF, especially with Open Top/Bottom config.

Can someone with 6800XT / 6700XT take a measurement?

EDIT: 6800XT will not fit because it's 120mm wide, so the PCIe cable doesn't have space anymore.

Will it be possible to secure tx240 paired with 25 mm fans to the case with 8 screws? Or is it secured to the case with an 120 mm bracket (ie 4 screws on one side of the radiator)?

I think I am going to buy the new formd t1 and build a custom loop with 240+280, I originally want to use the alphacool dclt pump according to optimum tech, but I found out that it is impossible to let the water run through 2x rad with cpu and gpu block with that pump, do anyone have other suggestion?

Isn't the ROG 2.9 Slot according to their website?
