Chinese motherboard manufacturer (尔英) ErYing has released a “Fantasy” series motherboard featuring Intel 12th generation Alder Lake CPU’s, except it’s not what you might think.  The CPU’s available are mobile variants with a 45W base TDP and soldered to the motherboard.  It looks like it can use a standard intel cooler mount however, and might make for some interesting SFF builds.  While they offer both ITX and mATX boards, the ITX is the most interesting for SFF.  Currently on Chinese retailer JD.com, the board is listed (but not yet available) in 3 CPU variants.  Prices and specs are listed below.

Just a heads up for anyone else that might be interested: There is now a 12900HK.

I am near to order one of this. Price is high (for Italy 413€), but good if I think to performance and overall quality (maybe you could suggest something cheaper at the same quality?).
I have a question for @Neatdrawls, or someone that already bought it. I cannot find specs for SIZE of this MITX board. Ok 170 x 170, but I want to know height. I have in mind to put it in a rack 1U chassis, that is 44mm height (considering all maybe 40mm of available height for Erying + fan), do you think I am crazy or can be done? This is because 2U is too much fat, and I don't want to consider some "weird hybrids" as 1.3U or 1.5U.
Could you help me guys?
Thank you

😎

It is approximately 4cm from the lower heat spreader bracket below the PCB to the top of the aluminum IO heatsink covering the IO ports.
Yes, this board is CNvi compatible with an Intel AX411 card. Also Gabriel Luchina has EFI information up for running Ventura 13.5.1 on this board on his Github respository site using OpenCore 0.9.4 EFI information Ventura (Not with onboard video) You will note he makes specific note of Bios version needed for best results. There is one bios download on the Erying site. You will note my board came without a MB manual in the box from Ali Express. Most coolers will be above this 4 cm point and you would have to get low profile ram as well to stay near the 4 cm dimension. You cannot lower standoffs much as the solder pins of the components on the board extend a good length from the bottom of the PCB past the solder joints assuming you do not have a plastic case base.
I have Erying 12900HK in a Lazer3d LZX-15 Matx case. Using a Noctua NH-L9I 17XX Chromax with a 25MM fan. VRM's run extremely HOT!!!

Small update:

Installed the IS-55 on the board, found out that my Erying doesn't like Adata RAMs, all 4 sticks (normal height & VLP rams) don't work with the board.

Temperatures at idle are better then the IS-47XT, while Cinebench results also increased by a little, while PL1 still maintains at 95W, although some of the P-Cores still love to go to 100C, during the tests.

What case is this?

I was wondering to put the Erying into AKASA Galileo TU3 Plus case, but there are problems: 1) The Akasa LGA 1700 Fanless case states <<Perfect for low-powered T-series Intel® Alder Lake processors up to 35W Thermal Design Point (TDP)>> 2) The PCI Ex 8x slot is NEAR the passive thermal module and I think it's impossible to put a PCI riser there (I want to put a double 2.5G PCIEx card there). I also found this installation guide video to understand better what is under the hood.
Any suggestions?

How did you install the IS-55, did you remove the original plate below and only use the pressure of the IS-55 to hold down the Erying heat spreader?
What was your ram height 38MM?

Yea, the original motherboard backplate can be removed.

Then one can use the backplate that the is55 comes with.

Or a Noctua NH-L12 Ghost Edition Backplate respective to that cooler? Same type of installation assuming it will fit.

Update: The original baseplate on an Erying 12 Gen Erying 12900HK (I9) version using the Noctua NH-L12 Ghost Edition Cooler and Noctua Chromax 120mm x 25MM fan does not need to have the OEM baseplate removed. However, if you wish to rotate the cooler so the open-end passes over the ram (where the upper heat pipes end) you will need to remove the VRM passive heatsink, after you mark it, as the heat pipes hit the upper edge of the factory Passive Aluminum VRM Cooler. You must Dremel some small curved notches for this cooler to get it to clear without it touching the VRM cooler.

Sigh, the more I see y'all playing with these, the more I want one.

I have enough projects. I have enough projects. I have enough projects. I have enough projects. I have enough projects. I have enough projects. I have enough projects. I have enough projects. I have enough projects. I have enough projects.

Never enough SFF porn. BTW They have an RX 6600M video card which has a Mobile Processor and lowered heat and power consumption that pairs well with this board.
