Just got my new 1440p monitor, started up a game and my PC just turned off once it had loaded (as if i'd help the power button), I then noticed the brick itself had turned off, I had to unplug it for quite a while until it would light up again.
Any thoughts?
330W Dell brick, HDPlex 400, GTX 1070, Ryzen 1700X
Fake brick? Not big enough brick? HDPlex problem? How do i tell?

Tried again, 1 second into the game, coil whine from the case (dunno if was GPU or plex) then pop! Off it turns

Did an online calculator on the coolermaster website with my build and it says I have 317W and recommends 367W power supply.
I don’t think the 330W brick is enough, can we get bigger that still fils the HDPLEX socket?

Splashed out on a brick direct from Dell, hoping I can get mu money back on the brick off eBay but probably too late now!
Hopefully the brick is the problem

Hm... so it crashes on Civ 6 even at 1080p but can cope with the new COD at 1080p and set to 140Hz...
it’s whining like hell though

Genuine (top) vs. eBay “genuine” bottom

Don’t be cheap stuff, don’t buy cheap stuff, don’t buy cheap stuff

Looks almost like it might just be older. They are easy and safe to take apart (assuming basic know-how)... Why not take a look?

I wouldn’t risk it again, I thought I was getting a good deal from a good supplier paying about 75% of the price (so not a deal too good to be true but still a good deal)
I’ve now ended up paying 175% of the retail price!
Now in talks to try get my eBay purchase refunded due to being fake/not up to spec

Just take it apart and scope the guts. Chinese crap is easy to spot with inferior heatsinks and PCB build/solder quality. It's very easy to pop the 4 screws off the bottom.
