Today I had an idea how to integrate the I/O at the front. It is just an idea what do you think?

I rather no IO than front IO. Front IO looks dated, side IO looks nice though.

I agree with @schn1tt3r , and much prefer no front I/O at all... even top I/Os look bad imo. The single port on the front of the A4 is the reason I've never purchased one... it just completely takes away from the beauty of that case. I'm glad the C4 is moving away from that, and I hope we can get a relatively I/O-less finalized design.

Alright @dondan , thanks for the clarification, things do make sense.

Actually, I was wondering if the (inevitable) size increase could possibly bring back some of the original ideas. As you may know, I've never been a huge fan of top I/O, if the flexible layout could mean the return of side I/O, it would also make many people happy I think. Wouldn't it be an acceptable compromize? ;)

You know what? I gave up on asking for classic design, Dan clearly explained what does not work on that layout.
Anyhow, The size increase should theorically allow for some original features to comeback, namely Side I/O (including audio ports).

Also, I was wondering if a wider case would allow for the old case feet design to return
(wider case should mean more stable, am I right?).

Please, let us know @dondan - A bigger case with the return of some original features, would be greatly appreciated.

As you can see, I asked many times about Side I/O but @dondan continues to ignore the questions.
Maybe with the recent size increase Side I/O can be viable. If you prefer I/O on the Side definitely let him hear your voice!

Am I missing something? This rendering is a very old one. If I am correct the current plans won't look anything like this. Also side i/o is out of question already.
my bad, it seems like I am the one who's missing a lot :D

@All:

Before I offer the poll about fan compatibility I made a list of compatible 240mm AiOs.
The case supports radiators with the following max specs:

295mm length
122,5mm width
height depends on fan configuration

AiOs that are based on Alphacool radiators will not fit because there are 124mm in width. Also some radiators with labels on the site will not fit.
From my own experience I regocment Asetek based AiOs, because they have support for every socket and if you reduce the pump RPM they are very quiet.

22mm height (Link):

* SilverStone Tundra TD02-SLIM V2 (273 x 120 x 22) = OK

27mm height (prefered class) (Link)

* Akasa Venom A20 (272 x 120 x 27) = OK

* Antec Mercury M240 (no data) = ?
* Cooler Master MasterLiquid 240 (277 x 119,6 x 27) = OK
* Cooler Master MasterLiquid Pro 240 (275 x 118,5 x 27) = OK
* Cooler Master Seidon 240V (273 x 120 x 27) = OK
* Corsair Hydro Series H100i (275 x 122 x 27) = OK
* DeepCool Captain Series = not fit (pump height)
* DeepCool MaelStrom 240T (274 x 120 x 27) = OK
* Enermax Liqmax II 240 (274 x 120 x 27) = OK
* ID-Cooling Auraflow 240 (274 x 120 x 27) = OK
* LC-Power LC-CC-240-LiCo (274 x 120 x 27) = OK
* LEPA Aquachanger 240 (274 x 120 x 27) = OK
* MagiCool AiO MC-A240A (272 x 120 x 27) = OK
* SilverStone Tundra TD02-LITE-V2 (273 x 120 x 27) = OK
* SilverStone Tundra TD02-E-V2 (278 x 124 x 27) = not fit (radiator width)
* Thermaltake Water 3.0 Extreme S (270 x 120 x 27) = OK
* Cryorig A40 (272 x 120 x 27,5) = OK

30mm+ height (Link)

* AeroCool Likai 240 (274 x 120,5 x 29 ) = OK

* Alphacool Eisbaer 240 (277 x 124 x 27,5) = not fit (pump height & radiator width)
* be quiet! Silent Loop 240 (277 x 124 x 27,5) = not fit (radiator width)
* Corsair Hydro Series H100i v2 (276 x 125 x 30) = maybe (maybe if you remove label)
* Fractal Design Celsius S24 (284 x 122 x 31) = OK
* NZXT Kraken X52 (275 x 123 x 30) = maybe ( I think the values are wrong because based on Asetek radiator)

(all Data are collected from the product specification pages, so there could be wrong values!)
Hi Dan, I am so happy to see this perfect case, many of us just want A4-SFX v3 + 240mm AIO =C4-SFX, try not to design so big, same as or smaller and beauti than NCASE M1 just ok,thanks

I'd very much prefer Side-I/O aswell. while top is kinda meh (but, without increasing the cases size the only way if I remember correctly), I might still buy it - front would be a no-go for me tho, I hate that front-I/O on my A4 already.
As Metroversal said, with the size increase dan is so keen on pushing, side might be viable again.

I do still prefer the <10l over 10l and 10l over 11l - knowing that we can't have side-I/O AND the smallest case, I'd go with side I/O as long as it doesn't mean the case has to go to 11l (which would be just too big for my needs)

For the side i/o question it is possible on the flexible design BUT....you will lose one 2.5" drive mounting space. So with side i/o you only can install one 2.5" drive instead of two.

One 2.5 drive should be more than enough. I plan on using zero because many mini ITX boards come with two m.2 slots. If someone is willing to pay $250 for a case, they should be willing to pay the same for an M.2 drive anyway. Plus, I've used double sided tape to put 2.5 SSD's directly on the case no need for mounting locations.

This is one point of view.
I also use only M.2 drives, but there are many customers that use more than one 2.5" drive because they are very well priced.
Furthermore many tech review will say: "Negative: This case is bigger as the A4 and only supports 1 x 2.5" drive"
