I left Bit-Tech years ago as they were very LFF focused, and the community shunned anything not ATX, watercooled and sleeved.

I can understand that. Even though my most viewed worklogs reside at B-T, at some point I felt it was more of a photography and expensive hardware competition than anything else. I've always been a nuts and bolts, behind the scenes kind of guy. I want to see the process, mess, mistakes and all. I want to see how you got from point A to B. I don't want a list of sponsors, a few hardware shots, and then the completed project. Maybe that's the old school modder in me, and I've become a little more curmudgeonly as time goes on... I still drop in occasionally and see names I've known for years, but it doesn't feel quite the same as it used to.

It's BACK! In all its white & purple glory .
Whatever else, it's great to have 2 communities that are overlapping but have a different perspective on things. I do feel quite at home here with all the SFF action and ground up creativity from more designers/engineers than pretty much anywhere else!
@Aibophobia, thanks again for being instrumental in setting this up and KI being hugely inspirational

Well, I managed to get myself suspended for awhile it seems - my store manager was on a short fuse today. Thankfully though my family was supportive and helped me not only write an apology letter but walked it in to the store. I'm not allowed there until things are cleared up so that really meant a lot.

On the brightside, I did get a lot of stuff for my first semester at school taken care of, and I should be able to post something here that I've been working on for awhile now! Woot! Free time!

Thank you, I appreciate it.

Me too! I've mentioned bits here and there but I've been rather hesitant to commit to a build log. I think it's about time though, especially with what's been mentioned about seeing all the nitty gritty details of a process being really appealing.

Sorry about what happened at your job. I am glad that you got school taken care of and I look forward to the build log.

I've been working for the past two and a half hours on a keycap set for the heck of it.

Looking good! I prefer the SA.

So four separate days within the past two months for these pumpkin coloured parts. :):(:mad::\

EDIT: funny thing is I spent some time in between (read: days) finding PDFs for one-sided DDR4 slots thinking "WHERE THE HECK ARE THEY" only to find out it's at page 2 and 3 of one of the blueprints I keep landing on. And now it's the same for the PCIe x16 slot (particularly the ones with that latch), only that Google actually couldn't find any (closest and only match was this taobao link)

EDITx2: There're two listings on ebay for iPad Airs I'm monitoring now. there's like a bidding war that's bound to push it over 50USD soon. dammit

My supervisor called me in today and things got sorted out. I was kind of disappointed to have to come in to work today after how stressful yesterday was, but it's been fine so far. :)
I am glad that it worked out. While it would have been nice to have a day off, you are still employed.

Nice detail on those parts you modelled. For popular second-hand electronics, a bidding war usually happens. Lost an auction for a 3Dconnexion Space Navigator that way.

I have to say, I don't miss NDAs. Back in the day, betas used to be open to whoever signed up rather than people who preorders, and I was in a ton, and I couldn't talk about anything. Also volunteered for Petroglyph so even more insider stuff there.

Have to be careful what you say.

Indeed gotta be careful, even had to inquiry if I could mention the name of the game due to how general the NDA was written.
Could even be things that exist outside of the testing suite, that although not directly in the Alpha/Beta, could still go under the NDA...

oh right forgot to mention those ipad airs are locked. Was wondering why did that post sound like a major detail was left out
If you're referring to mine, then it's because NDA

ahh no I meant my earlier post. $50 for a working iPaid Air 1G is super sketch as heck O_O

Wait, I thought the first rule of NDA was "don't talk about NDA" ? Someone's gonna sue you for leaking the word "alpha" and the game's name in the same sentence !

"there's This Game I've been testing for a company. I'd wish I could say mo--"
"NDA Police. You have leaked the name of a contractually undisclosed product." *rice sack*
