Discovered that 80 grit sandpaper will make your fingers unrecognisable to capacitive fingerprint readers. It feels oddly rejecting to have your devices refuse to recognise you.

Are you planning an elaborate jewellery heist? Or did you have the paper the wrong way round :)

I bought a used Skull Canyon NUC from gumtree.

I plan to replace the cooling for my new summer project. It will be highly efficient in terms of space and cooling. No doubt damn inefficient for my wallet :)

Nice! What method did you have in mind?

I continued looking at job ads and considered how I would tackle them. I have looked into mechanical keyboards and realized just how hard it is in Canada to get anything that usually shows up just fine (price and availability) in the U.S., Europe, and Asia. Either I'm paying a hefty sum, waiting a long time, or risking both being the case (pun intended) thanks to duties, fees, and taxes. Looking at either the Magicforce 68 or the IKBC New Poker II. I had considered the Magicforce 49 but the layout is a hot mess.

I am thinking about a vertical case with a central core heatsink similar to the Mac pro. With the Skull canyon and 1050ti low profile GPU.

I have the picture in my noggin, now turning that into reality is another thing entirely :)
I've had the same issue with Mini-ITX and the current crop of boards, card, and risers. I look forward to seeing your solution(s).

R.I.P.

I swung by a local powder coating place I didn't know existed until a friend told me. They said to paint my MC600 or my S4 Mini would be about $60 for a simple color, about $110 for a more complex (two-stage) coat.

For the MC600, one of the two-stage colors looked really cool and I think I might end up springing for it. We'll see how the project turns out first, though.

Went to a short counselling session, travelled from one major city to another to check out keyboards and prospective jobs at a computer store, and testing the actuation force of the current keyboard that I'm using (59.4g btw).

I did borrow a PS/2 mouse from a friend, but I was unable to fix the issue. The root hubs were all unable to start due to a Code 19, which indicates part of the registry is damaged, but chkdsk couldn't find any errors and all the other fixes I tried did nothing. Should've just reinstalled windows from the get go, that would've taken a lot less time.

Interesting price, I tend to pay around $110 (incl. socialist state tax) to get motorcycle frames powder coated in a less complex colour here, not complaining though, really good price for the vintage sheet frames that I usually deal with!

So you could say that its memory of hardware "flew out the window"? *ba dum tss*
The spies are too greedy for one window, they chose all of them!

I don't have any perspective on whether or not it's a good price, but I'm of the understanding they pretty much try to do their small projects (like a computer case) at the same time they are doing larger orders. Or at least more than one thing at a time.
