Amazing human being
No way he is human, has to be a saint in waiting, he made my first build possible. if I could explain I would, but imagine the worst customer in the world, he did everything he could to get me a case, thank you could never be enough

Finally finished my build!

Overall I am very happy! My only complaint is that the temps get a little higher than I'd prefer when I have the monitor stand over the mini. Have any of you guys had a similar setup and if so, which monitor stands would you recommend?

You should get you a monitor arm. Seriously one of the best purchases I made. I bought a high end one when there weren't many choices and it was like 130+ dollars but now there are dozens and dozens of options that are really cheap but seem well made:

Need help/opinion.

Looking into purchasing the Gigabyte GA-AB350N ITX board
The motherboards connections are oddly placed and I'm worried the RAM will press up against the HDplex 400's cables.

If anyone can help, or even suggest another 350/370 board with display port out ( freesync monitor I want only supports it via displayport) I'd greatly appreciate it.

After a quick search I'm pretty sure the ab350n is the only itx am4 board with displayport

Yeah I looked too and the only one I found was the Gigabyte. If Asus hadn't used that oddball IO layout, hopefully they will change that for 400 series.

Just transferred my build from a Node 202 to the Skyreach 4 Mini!
Here is some quick snaps!

I plan to dis-assemble once I get a power switch from NFC shop and do a installation video with hands on approach if people really want to see how to slot things in - as it does it tight but suprisingly easier to manage than the Node 202..

Here's my build running Final Fantasy XV on High settings on 3440 x 1440p. It maintained 60FPS most of the time, oscillating between mid 40's to low 50's in combat.

Left is under load, Right is idle with the game closed. After letting the system cool down for a bit. CPU/GPU temps dropped to 31C each.

Hi All,

New to this forum & very happy to see the activeness in this community.
I'm just collating all components before I place an order.

Have some queries, and would be glad to know them sorted.
1. Does the S4Mini include the Skybracket & Skybracket duo or do we need to order them separately?
2. Anybody running 8700 (non-K) with Noctua L9i? What are the temperatures at load? Any undervolting required?
3. Is it possible to build a brickless with 8700 (non-K) and a 1060 mini (Zotac), help on this please? (Other components are 2x2.5 HDD)
4. I have 2 Motherboards in mind Asrock z370 mini itx (non fatality) & Gigabyte. Which would be better, as I have no plans to overclock but undervolt, if needed.?
5. Just for info, Is 8700 really needed or can I get away with i5-8400 if my primary use is 3D cad (NX) & occasional gaming? (1440p @ 30/60fps)?

Thanks all in advance.

I've answered some of your questions that I'm able to. Others will be better suited than me for those.

1. Yes, you get 1x sky bracket and 1x sky bracket duo out the box. You can order extras separately.

4. I've never dealt with a Gigabyte board but my ASRock Z170 has held up well with overclocking, underclocking and undervolting at various points in its life. Solid board and I believe the Z270 and Z370 boards are very similar to my one.

5. I use NX myself and I'm using an i5 6600k, for small assemblies it's held up really well. Fast loading, fast model switching and manipulation, switching between modelling and drafting is fast too. Never tried anything above maybe 30 component assembly. I never render within NX but obviously the better your cpu the faster it will render. I've been using a GTX 1080 but I imagine the 1060 would have been fine in my use case.
For gaming an i5 is all you'll ever need, especially sub 100 fps and I hear the 1060 is a solid 1080p card. You should be able to push 1440p out of it with some settings tweaks.

@Josh | NFC any chance you'd be able to get the risers themselves on SFF Lab? I'm sure it's been asked, but I'm kinda desperate for one at this point. I've looked into alternatives but I need the profile of yours.

Just a probing question, but what is the best cpu cooler in terms of cooling that fits in the S4M? I've heard varying answers ranging from the Cooltek LP53, to the Noctua L9-I. I'll be using Noctua's NF-A9x14 as the fan.
