Note this is my Brickless S4M-C from 2017, updated it in 2020 to brickless for PPL3, and now resubmitting for PPL4 as a curiosity. Time to see it age and be destroyed by newer performance-per-liter submissions, they'll maybe even inspire me for my NEXT upcoming gaming build...!?

PC itself:

CinebenchR23:

Octanebench:

Timespy:

Scores:
  • ((6098 * 7438)/(4.2^1.5))/100 = 52695
  • ((6098 * 158)/(4.2^1.5))/100 = 1119
😭
You can really feel the age of our pascal GPUs and sky/kaby chips lol

Round 4 PPL calculations
  • ((CineBench R23 score * Time Spy graphics score)/(Build Volume^1.5))/100
  • ((CineBench R23 score * Octanebench 4.0 graphics score)/(Build Volume^1.5))/100
  • These calculations may be modified to keep numbers reasonable (eg - /100 to /1000)

How do these scores compare with the top gaming laptops? For example, razer blade (5900hx, 3080) should be at around 610k score if we include the brick (12600x7600 / (1.05L +. 3L)^1.5 / 100, or 890k without the brick going based on some numbers from reviews.

Posting a Ryzen 5000 APU build so it can be compared to the Ryzen 6000 version in a few months...

Ryzen 5700g APU

No dGPU

Asrock x300 1.92L
https://www.asrock.com/nettop/AMD/DeskMini X300 Series/index.asp#Specification

Score1-
((CineBench R23 score * Time Spy graphics score)/(Build Volume^1.5))/100

brickless score for fun 😎😎😎
((14,732 x 1713) / (1.92 ^ 1.5))/100= 94,856

add the Huge Brick = 150mm x 36mm x 65mm = .351 L 😥

Score w/ Brick
((14,732 x 1713) / (1.92+.351 ^ 1.5))/100= 73,738

Score2- n/a

Just putting up a rough estimate with no tweaking on the CPU side. I'll officially submit a post once the case is fully assembled

(23,000*15150)/(4.3^1.5)/100 = 390,784

Performance per liter is getting too complicated. Once i fully submit the info, does that mean I'm finally in second place behind petricor again?

OK since I recently made a custom case (Desknano) for the x300 board, I thought why not try this again with the different case and see what the result is compared to the stock case. Bounding box of entire case with protrusions measures 157mm x 143mm x 54mm = 1.22 L. Same stock brick as before.

Score1-
((CineBench R23 score * Time Spy graphics score)/(Build Volume^1.5))/100

Base score
((15,010 x 1791) / (1.22 ^ 1.5))/100 = 199,497

With the Brick (150mm x 36mm x 65mm = .351 L)
((15,010 x 1791) / (1.22+.351 ^ 1.5))/100= 136,524

Score2- n/a

Its almost doubled the score of the stock case (73,738).

long time no new entry! are we in round 5 yet or is everyone waiting for @petricor's new build... :p

anyway, just wanted to see how my "Pocket Rocket No.2 build" scores, so here we go...

Case Volume: 96 x 256 x 147,3mm = 3,62L

Unbenannt2.JPG 20230718_152834 (Groß).jpg

SAVAGO 330W GaN Brick Volume: 0,25L
(I know, external PSUs are not that popular, but since this setup doubles as charger for my work-notebook...)

GPU: inno3D RTX 4070
CPU: AMD Ryzen 9 7940HS

Screenshot 2023-07-18 123919.jpg

PPL calculation (including brick): ((16140 * 17653) / 3.87^1.5))/100 = 374.244

Impressive! Probably runs cooler than other 4L builds too due to the external brick which isn't dumping heat into the case

Looking forward to joining this competition soon, but first I have to commit to a build decision :p

Currently awaiting my Gigabyte 4060, and will have to swap out the 500W GaN for a 250W or something else so the 4060 will fit in my RCC-SMALL1

I built this a while back but forgot to officially test this thing, and now it's long been disassembled, so will just have to estimate for fun. I believe the one here was 239mm x 107 x 142.6=3.64L and I was using the .264L SlimQ 240w brick = 3.9L total. The brick sort of fits into the unused volume of the "case", which was cool (but not perfectly inside the volume, that would have been cool though right?) so the whole set up fit pretty well in a camera bag. Unfortunately the gpu needed to be a bit limited on power to keep everything happy.

CBR23 - 14732
Timespy - 11500 (~70% power level)

219,631 estimate
