Does the Noctua NF-B9 redux-1600 PWM fan give better cooling performance over the stock Noctua L9i Fan?
Okay so @||| noted my posts from my own tests... here's the summary:
The NFB9 Redux was beautiful but, it woudlnt fit in an S4 mini without causing problems (both temp and fan sound problems)...

  • The A9x14 (stock NHL9i fan) performed amazing with the S4 mini side-panel ON and it was SUPER QUIET, almost ZERO air turbulence sound.
  • The NFB9 Redux performed IDENTICAL to the A9x14 BUT... only with the S4 Mini side-panel OFF (sucks). But temps went up by 4-5C on the CPU instantly (in all idle and load tests) and it became SUPER LOUD once you put the S4 Mini side-panel ON....because the NF-B9 would be touching the side-panel with ZERO air gap and had tons of air turbulence.

Thanks for the quick responses! @1461748123 By any chance could you share the file for the ZOTAC plate you made? I was planning on making the same build but with the Gigabyte 1070 mini, but if this fits better I'd rather go with this. Are the thermals with the 120mm fan good enough? Sorry for asking for so much and thank you!

I wouldn't bother asking anything directly to @1461748123 (or Brian as he is known in the Discord channel), he has been AWOL since late March / early April. He did however post the resource here:

And thanks to @geee0h, available online here:

The PSU I'm using, G-Unique 400w Silm:

The golden G logo:

Now the DC power jack, I'm using GX-16 here:

We are almost done! Next the motherboard:

hm, could you tell me,

why is there a need for the G-Unique 400w Silm AND the little board (known as Archdeamon) that goes directly into the 24pin power connector of the Mainboard?
I thought if you have a 12V Brick from Gury you dont need the big 400w Silm Board that takes up a lot of space, only the one board on the 24pin connector.

Second: Can you power the whole system via this GX-16? Gury told me that it wont be enough to power 400W therefor i would need this bulky 8 Pin connector.
