This is an excellent question, would be very interested in opinions here. Option 1 also has the advantage to be a bit simpler, meaning you do not have to plug your bottom fans onto the gpu, install the horrendous GPU temp software and customise the fan curves.

Thank you Femto. I haven't made any final decisions yet, but I am preferring the simplicity of Option 1 (the ASUS Strix 2080ti) as well.

Hello @Necere why are the cards limited to 130mm at the rear corner? I checked the diagram and my case (v6.0) yet feels like the rear corner can hold 135+mm of height.

Is this solely because of the installation difficulties rather than actual physical limit?
Thanks.

Yes, it's a safety margin for installation.

I'm very surprised as well! (I just registered to create this reply, but I promise I will become more engaged and active in the weeks to come :), especially as I start to accumulate parts for my Ncase M1 build -- I think I am going 3950X and 2080ti after watching Optimum Tech's 3950X build. Sold).

What I would like to know is how hot that 2080Ti Strix OC will typically run (1440p gaming) with its 3 fans/larger profile, versus other 2080 tis out there.

I've seen 2-slot 2080tis fit this case with ease, and users will often place two case fans, drawing air from underneath, directly on to the card. I don't expect to be doing any sort of insane overclocking, but I am not prepared to experiment with water cooling at this time, so I am curious what the differences would be between:
 • Option 1: ASUS Strix 2080ti OC (3 fans), huge card (it's a question of how efficient these 3 fans actually are)
 • Option 2: Other 2080ti options, 2 slot cards, w/ room for two 120mm case fans underneath, blowing air directly on to the card
I'd suspect Option 2 is actually going to produce better temps??

Would be awesome if anyone could verify if the ASUS Strix 2080Ti can manage on its own with the NCase V.6!

Is there a list of Watercooled GPU´s or compatible waterblocks with the Ncase M1 ? My actual behemoth of 1080ti Gaming x with a EKWB Waterblock on top , is 65mm higher that the Top of the pcie bracket and will probably not fit which is a hard pill i might have to swallow and get a 2080ti.
Would go for a asus strix but as it´s a high pcb card like mine, it might not fit again when a waterblock is mounted.
From what i´ve seen on /sff 2080ti´s with a waterblock seem to be reference models.

The ASUS RTX 2080 Ti Strix OC is compatible with at least the NCASE M1 V6 without any disassembly of the card, no force required, no bending of the shroud etc.

The card does not even touch the front IO, with about a 1mm gap. Front USB/Audio Jack may be compatible also, however I don't run them so I have not tried.

Below link for a step by step:

I just wanted to post that the front IO does work with the ASUS RTX 2080 Ti Strix OC 2080ti. It is a tight fit, but all fits just fine with a little cable management.

In fact, i can also confirm that 2 noctura 120mm fans can fit under the strix card as well. It's like it was made for it. Zero space, but a perfect fit. Ref:

Just to add to this, i finished my build and i have images to prove my previous post:

Please update notes as they are incorrect - the Asus ROG Strix OC 2080TI does indeed support space for the front panel connections. In fact it also supports enough room for 2 120mm/15mm noctura fans under the gpu.

See my post/pics for validation of this:

Hi, today i received my M1 and migrated my parts from my old Lian Li. Awesome! I already owned a GAINWARD GeForce RTX 2080 SUPER Phantom, following this thread i bought 2x 120mm Fans to replace the OEM ones to get the card in. But to my surprise the card fits into the case and even has some sag to it(With the I/O-Ports)!

@Necere: Dear Necere,

First of all, I love the Ncase v6.1 : ).

I bought a used EVGA GeForce GTX 1080 FTW Gaming.
The card has the following dimensions:
Height: 128.626 mm
Length: 266.7mm
Width: Dual Slot

I just wanted to let you know that I can't close the side panel. The height is below 130mm, but in combination with the Gigabyte X570 ITX Mainboard, there is no chance to close it. Maybe you can include this issue with the Gigabyte X570 ITX Mainboard in your GPU compatibility section.

Best Regards,
Marco

Hey all,

Been a while since I built my last PC and looking to get back into the game. Just ordered my M1 yesterday with the April 13-17th preorder so I have some time to confirm specs before I start ordering components. But I just wanted to confirm that the EVGA GeForce RTX 2070 Super Black Gaming didn't have any issues. I didn't see any older cards on this list and I'm not in a position to drop $1k on a new GFX card (even though the 2070 is still a stretch).

Thanks for the help,
Walker

I don’t think you’ll have any issues. But if I may offer a suggestion, instead of buying the 2070 super, you’d be much better off buying a used 1080 Ti instead. Youll get much better performance for around the same price. Unless you already have the 2070

Interesting suggestion, yeah I got a few weeks before the case comes in to make the decision. Its more of a 3D rendering rig than a gaming rig so I haven't looked into how the 1080TI would fare with Blender and Maya versus newer hardware but I'll check out some comparisons.

What's preventing the side panel from closing? And what does the motherboard have to do with it?

Do you know if we can fit width wise the Palit NE5165001BG1-1170H

On the website the dimensions are listed as:

Board Size

178x138x38 mm

The length (178 mm) is no problem. Neither is the thickness of 38 mm. 25 mm thick fans will easily fit on the bottom of the M1 underneath this card. The final dimension is 138 mm. This is less than the stated limit of 140 mm for the M1 so it should fit. This card's power usage is stated as 75 W which all comes from the PCI-E expansion card slot, so there are no PCI-E cables or connectors needed which can affect the compatibility of higher powered cards.
