warranty:
any basic unit:3 years ,return and repair;anybrick 1 years, return and replace;user pays return shipping
build samples:
1,Arch DEaMon 120watts set with Default cables,Dcjack is 5.5*2.5 type:

2,typc A basic unit 400 watts set, with one 6+2 pin PCI-E connector,4+4pin CPU connector, and 2 sata connectors.input 8 pin(2 M3 screws)DC jack.the PCI-E cable is soldered on the Load switch PCB(On/Off synced. with basic unit) right behind the DC jack, and it ismuch safer than other pcie direct connected to VGA method, for the house-keeping supervisory ship on basic unit will monitor the input voltage,if trigger an OVP,it will shut down the PCIE power:

3,ArchDEaMON limited edition(No1) 400watts set ,Dell dedicated 8pin DC-jack with C14 BRK:

4,VX set for PCfi CAS,5.5*2.5 DCjack ,linear regulator in.so you can compare Gunique PSU with other band's PICO things.by constomized directly soldered cable,Gunique saved lot of precious and limited space on the basic unit, and offer you more and more components like capacitors ,mosfets etc. to increase performance(not by those big, cheap connectors).
and cause it is 12V-in type PSU,it generates little heat that it dont need any heatsink to cover.

5,Arch Deamon limited edition (No2)+ultimate version Modded brick ,dual pci-e 6+2pin VGA cable witn one changable, this set can run i7+1080ti or titan pascal:

insane!

you make me regret buying a hdplex 400w hi fi a year before.

tell me, can I plug a gtx 1070 with i7 6700k ?

how is security/safety/reliability/efficiency on this thing? i mean... compared to hdplex or a regular psu?

I can't say for sure about your power requirements, but I've had my archdaemon 400w for about 2 years now and it has been flawless the entire time. Not sure about efficiency.

This is impressive for sure, i was gonna reuse my hdplex 400w for my next project, but with that, i'll cut a lot of space for my build...

@guryhwa Perhaps a dumb question, but do the G-Unique DC-ATX units filter the 12V line at all? Or is ripple/noise from the AC-DC unit passed straight through?

The benefit of doing 12V is to be able to not do that. That's why he can get away with such a small unit just distributing the 12V. Step down buck converters need inductor and the more amp you pushed through them the higher henry you'd need, the bigger they go... Add LC low pass filter to clean ripple, another inductor.

I think you misunderstand my question. I know the 12V passes straight through without conversion (duh), but I was wondering about filtering through the capacitor banks or something like that. While I understand what these units do in broad terms (take in 12V, pass it through + convert part of it to secondary voltages), my understanding of how this works is ... not good :p

Probably better to ask in the discord, more likely to get a response. My guess would be that there technically are caps on the 12v rail, but they're there to support the buck converters. So technically it probably has filtering, just not sure how much.

I quickly took a multimeter to my Archdeamon Limited Edition and at least all 22 caps on the "TaCap armor" are decoupling the 12V line. Can't reach the other ones on the memory side to measure.
Can't tell how useful those are to actually remove AC ripple from the line, as they all seem to have the same capacitance and I don't know their specs. Probably not that useful (tantalums ESR is likely to high).

ANd the answer to your question? is the 12v line filtered in the archdaemon? It´s a good question and I´m also interested to know. Just out of curiosity.

Nothing conclusive really, but my impression is that the caps on the 12V line do some filtering, but not all that much. Seems sensible to work from an assumption that out of spec from the PSU means out of spec into the motherboard. I'm having my brother (who is an electrical engineer and has access to an oscilloscope) test my desired PSUs (one RPS-200-12C, one UHP-350-12) with some added large filter caps on the output to see if that does anything/will bring the UHP within spec.
