Hey there! I'm new to this site and looking for help in building a small form factor PC for photo editing in Adobe Lightroom.
I've done computer repair before but have never built one from the ground up. I've been using PC part picker to try and build something I like, but I'm having trouble even deciding on a case or chipset. Any advice would be appreciated!
Requirements: As Lightroom mainly is affected by CPU, I want at least a 7th gen i5 or AMD equivalent - the faster the better though. I want an SSD for speed as well (at least 480gb), and I'm thinking 16gb of RAM. Lightroom doesn't really use a dedicated GPU so my thought is I'll skip that for now but would like the space to add one later. USB type C is a must for future file transfers from external hard drives.
My reason for posting here is that I'm looking to build something with a small form factor. If I build a PC I want it to be small and sleek - much smaller than a standard tower, not much bigger than a router (or a small toaster?). I've looked at barebone mini PCs and mini ITX cases, but I'm having trouble finding something that won't take up very much desk space but still would be in my budget and has decent reviews. I do have a limited budget, hoping to spend in the $600-$800 dollar range if at all possible.
