Join the Smallformfactor.net HWbot Team.

It's time for a little friendly competition!

HWBOT is a 100% FREE to use online benchmarking repository.
The rules are simple:
1. Create an account.
2. Join the team.
3. Run benchmarks.
4. Submit your results.

Link to the team: http://hwbot.org/team/smallformfactor.net/#Members

Why should I run benchmarks?
- Your contribution(s) earn points for the smallformfactor.net team.
- It starts some friendly competition with other members of the Small Form Factor community.
- Competition helps to optimize builds and eek out performance that would otherwise go unnoticed.
- Teammates help each other by finding ways to improve their scores.
- The more points our team earns, the higher we rank among other teams worldwide.

As a lot of our builds share similar hardware inside various SFF chassis, this helps to ensure that our hardware is running at its best.

What is HWBot?
It's a website were you can browse processor and videocard specifications, and compare your performance based on thousands of submitted results. It's also an overclocking competition site. If you like tweaking your computer, you can send in your results and be handed out awards for best performing videocard / processor, etc.
- HWBOT is the official website for benchmarking/ overclocking enthusiasts.
- It's been around since 2006 as the gold standard in benchmark result submissions.
- Every record that has even been, was submitted to HWBOT for accuracy and validation.

How do I join the Smallformfactor.net team?
Step 1. Visit the website hwbot.org/

Step 2. Select the option to register

Step 3. Enter your username at it appears on the Small Form Factor Forums.

Step 4. Select the team.

Step 5. Complete your registration

Now what?
Run benchmarks and submit your scores to help the team.
You can benchmark your CPU, GPU, RAM, and HDD.

3DMark submissions will require a 3DMark account, you can make one here: http://www.3dmark.com/login

Is there an FAQ where I can learn more?
Absolutely!

So my cake and eat it too scenario isnt working out too well. I can get the 3200mhz ram OR the 3.8 OC on my CPU. Also, with this bios version I can only hit the cpu OC with Ryzen Master and not with the same settings in bios directly..go figure.

was hitting 1623 CB with 3.8 in bios under older version.. now 3.8 on CPU with Ryzen Master and only scoring 1563. boooo.

@MarcParis what settings are you using in bios for 3.8-3.9 on your 1700x?
Simply put vcore to 1.375v and loadline calibration to middle (depends on your mb) as a start.
Based on experiments, evertyhing above 3.9ghz is bringing tons of heat...but i'll'try again with noctua c14s to see gains

Nice work @MarcParis !

Thanks for the tip and with 1.375. LLC2 and disabling core boost (was missing that earlier) I hit 1670cb at 3800Mhz. Does the team always get points with submissions or is it just the top 20 or? Basically if you getting better results on your 1700x should I bench other stuff for the team is my question.

fun stuff though!

Does the team always get points with submissions?
Yes, all submissions will earn additional points for the team

Higher scores for certain hardware will award more points when your submission is ranked among others but there is generally always some award, however big or small that may be.

Absolutely! The more submissions we have a team, the better we will do. You can even see where all these submissions made a terrific impact on our teams performance. (link)

It has bumped us up quite a bit on the team rankings too!

I've been overthrown! Huge congrats to everyone for the amazing contributions.

The nice thing, and this is very important, is that on this particular forum a good majority of the users are on certain hardware that functions best in SFF cases. In general, this leads to a lot of similar hardware being used/tested. Be it on DX-ATX, HD-Plex, or SFX PSU's, users that submit similar hardware can work with others members on the forums to undervolt or perhaps find greater forms of efficiency.

For example, let's say 20 SFF.net users are on an i7-7700k and someone says, "Hey, I undervolted to XX.Xvolts and achieved the same clockspeed for my submission but my temps dropped 8c" other users can then experiment with undervolting to increased their hardware's efficiency.

This also helps to find additional performance when your rig is somehow scoring comparatively lower than other people with similar hardware. "Hey, wait, why is your GTX1060 scoring 500 points higher than mine?"

It's great to watch a team naturally work together when simple competitions like this on are posted because it can help to make all of our machines better.

@Kwirek
I too use a 2560x1440 display. I use irfanview (Freeware) to save all images at 1280x720 at a 60% compression level.
In my experience, this typically changes a 8MB screenshot to just 1.5MB.
It also helps that the tool has the ability to quickly batch entire libraries of images (I use this for our reviews).

You are right about small form factor...there is clear synergy between users..:)

As a today's feedback, i noted that you need to desactivate all monitoring (afterburner, cpu-z...) or programs (like steam, origin...)

For screenshot i'm simply using crop from windows. Even on 4k screen, i'm just taking a snapshot of benchmark..:)

Last point : testing all these benchmark helped me to identified stable oc. For example my oc was working on cinebench r15 (but my computer uses 250w on wall.....) but not on super pi...i needed to increase a little bit vcore..:)

Quantity over quality I'm afraid. ;-)

Good tips, but I think it won't work when you've got a *.hwbot validation file on your hands. It's a fringe-case but an annoying one. :-P

Pffff i've just noticed that windows 8-10 use is very restricted on hwbot :

Pfff, some of my results were removed whereas they were far from best...

I understood that some competitors tried to get rid of my scores just by reporting my results...i didn't realize that people could be so eager/jealous to win a competition even if there is no prices...so, so childish and stupid

Sucks. But it is competitive, so some will do everything they can to get the extra points for their ranking.

i hope it will be better because this week i will submit more benchmarks, mainly on 3d where almost everything is forbidden on windows 8/10 with mb that can change their bclk...but i don't even understand this blockade..:)
