I see a compatibility list on their website for external power bricks. What is the cheapest viable external power brick for this PSU, if anyone here has already done the research.

Can anyone tell me if the HDPlex 160W will fit inside a minibox m350? I intend to try using it with a Asrock Fatal1ty AB350 board, but I'm not sure if there will be sufficient clearance.

Maybe because HDplex have an overall slightly better building quality
It seems to have more capacitors on board. I learned somewhere that, the more capacitors, the more stable the power delivery for situations where mains power is unreliable. This matters more for higher wattage setups. Thought I'd go with the more robust hardware as power ain't so great where I live.

Update:

Well it has been more than a year and my HDPLEX combo ( HDPLEX 160W DC-ATX + HDPLEX 80W AC-DC) is still performing well. The faint crackling sound (that I reported in this thread) slowly disappeared over a period of a few months until I no longer hear anything now. Very pleased with the purchase.

Here is my PC Power Table (Rated) vs. Actual:

CPU (51W) 5-45W
RAM DDR4 x 2 (~6W) 4W
M.2 SSD (~3W) 1W
SSD x 2 (~4W) 2W
CPU Cooler (1.1W) 1W
Noctua 120mm Fan (1.2W) 1W
NoiseBlocker 80mm Fans x 2 (3.1W) 2W
USB2 (Keyboard & Camera/Mic; ~5W) 2W
USB3 (~4.5W) 2W
UV LEDs (12" @ 2.5W; 2 x 5.5" @ 1.1W = ~4.7W) 4W
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
TOTAL = (Rated: ~83.6W) Actual: 24-64W

So here is the new power consumption table for my HDPlex combo (160W DC-ATX + 80W AC-DC) now thrown into UV Siamese v2:

Total Max Power Consumption (Estimated / Recorded) = <75W / ~58.5W
--------------------------------------------------------------------
CPU PENTIUM G4600 = <51W (6-45W)
RAM DDR4 8GB x 2 = <4W
SSD 2.5" SATA x 2 = <4W
SSD M.2-2280 x 1 = <2W
LED UV PURPLE STRIP x 2 = <1.5W
USB3 Corsair K70 Keyboard = <4.5W
USB3 Port or Hub = <4.5W
USB2 Logitech Camera/Mic = <1W
USB2 Logitech Wireless = <1W
USB2 USB-Powered Headphone Amp = <1.5W
--------------------------------------------------------------------

Anyone else patiently awaiting the new generation of 160/200W DC-ATX units?

Larry informed me on 31 October that it was looking like late-November for his unit... imagine KMPKT's slightly different unit/version will launch same time or shortly thereafter???

Wow, excellent news! Will the Dynamo Mini 200 DC-ATX fit my Mini-ITX motherboard 24-pin ATX plug (Gigabyte H170N-WIFI) as the specs say 22-pin???

What are the differences between your unit and the one that will be sold directly by HDPlex then?

This is the older generation model I currently have and looking to replace:
