The photo shows the Thermalright Cooler (95x95). It seems like a tight fit. Does anyone have a photo of the ID Cooling IS 50 or 55? Thanks! John
Are you referring to "inside the case" or in general?

Be aware: This also depends on what mainboard and platform you want to use it. Apparently, Gigabyte boards tend to have a higher socket than the rest (1 - 2 mm), and also, AM5 apparently has generally taller sockets (also about 1 - 2 mm). Eg. while I was easily able to install the Thermalright AXP120-X67 on my i5-13500 (MSI B760) in the S400, I wasnt able to do the same with my 7950X + Asrock B650E PG-ITX.
A test fit with my Asrock Z690 PG-ITX + i5-12400 showed its indeed the platform, as the cooler fit properly again.

ID-Cooling IS-55 is 57 mm tall (and so is the iS-50), thus with an AM5 board (X600) it might even be 59 mm tall.
Other 120 mm variants:

- The AXP-100-Cu / Full Copper - which seems to be the cooler depicted here - is 58 mm tall (original fan is 108 x 108 x 14 mm)
- Scythe Big Shuriken 2 Rev B - 58 mm height
- Alpenföhn Blackridge in low profile mode - 47 mm, BUT: RAM clearance lowered to 18 mm, IDK if that would work here

... and thats it for the regular 120 mm fan gang.

But apparently there are 92-to-120 mm offset fan adapters for Thermalright 92 mm coolers, so eg. the AXP90-X53 or AXP90-X47 could be other good options.

95mm is indeed a tight fit between RAM and the mosfet heatsink .
This is the depth of the NH-L9i which collides with the latter. But loosening the screws of the mosfet heatsink lets you installed it, @Curiosity's tips ;)

Here under the perfect fit with a Jonsbo HP-400S (103x92mm):

No dice finding pictures of the ID-Cooling coolers you mention attached on the Deskmini, all I found is the IS-40X (v.2 I think, 101x94mm):

I was looking at the 3D custom case "DeskStudio" that comes in 3 heights. It is made for a 120mm x25mm fan. It lists cooler heights of 23,33,&43 mm without fan. If I'ma reading the ID cooling site correctly, the IS 50 & 55 have heights of 41 & 40 mm (without fan). The thermalright APX heights are 32 & 36 mm (without fan). I was thinking about the ID coolers, but am worried about the 120mm width. Thanks for both comments.....very helpful! John

Ok, just pulled the IS-55 V3 from its package and measured the sizes for you: cooler by itself is 42 - 43ish mm, and with fan its between 57 and 58 mm (the anti-vibration corners add about 1 mm). What they apparently ignore with their own calculations: the mounting plate for the fan, which adds about 1 - 1.5 mm. So the cooler by itself is probably 41 mm - technically correct, but for installation? Not helpful.

Maximum RAM height still remains at about 31 mm.

Thanks for doing the measurements for me! The Deskstudio case has a separate fan attachment & the info states that the max cooler height is 43mm.... so It looks like the IS-55 height will fit. The Deskmini/IS-55 cooler attachment diagrams show the heat pipes running parallel to RAM slots, with the curved part of the heat pipes near the back IO ports and the "short" side of the cooler nearest to the VRM modules. Thanks again, John

Does anyone knows, if Thermalright AXP-100 Full Copper fits into the tallest option?

Whitepaper, states it fits 43mm or lower in height.
The AXP-100 Full Copper is 44mm in height... By 1mm it might be possible to fit imho...

It's just that all the other alternative coolers, cannot compete at all with the True Copper..... (a friend of mine has one, and it cools it's 7950x (180w limited) without any hassle at all...

Is the AXP-100 Full Copper even compatible with AM5?
I tried finding it for sale, but no luck so far.

I love the designs. Is there any chance you'll be taking a look at the x600 deskmeet motherboard design? The slightly bigger brother to the Deskmini has a peculiar board with front and back connecters that you need to account for. I believe there is not a single alternative case this motherboard can fit in out there. But the basic case is shit, has zero airflow and uses a massive ATX powersupply that could definatly be scaled down within a smarter case design.

Hey John,

Looks like it does fit on the DeskMini: https://ascii.jp/elem/000/004/194/4194019/2/

IS-55 = 55mm tall with fan = 40mm tall without fan
If you'd like to use the DeskStudio case I would recommend OPTION 4 which supports up to a 43mm heatsink.

Realized your question was answered, my bad.

Hi there,

Height wise, the tallest option is advertised as max 43mm for the heatsink but there IS a little leeway here so I'm fairly confident a 44mm heatsink will fit without issues, possibly even 45mm.

AXP90-X53 FULL is another full copper option which does a pretty good job.

Hey Bakaban,

Sorry to disappoint you but I don't own any larger hardware nor do I have any usecase for it so it simply isn't on the table for me at the moment.
Do note however that the DeskMeet appears to be a "regular" DeepITX board. So any ITX case that has a little extra room (+40mm) for the depth should be able to accommodate this board without too many issues.

Best of luck.
