A Couple of small updates. I have removed the stock Wraith Spire fan in favor of the trusty Noctua 92mm. This is still on the Cryorig C7 heatsink for much improved acoustics.

Also,

Sold off one of my 1050 Ti cards and dropped in the venerable Reference GTX 980. This one is from Asus. With Mid range GPU prices still way over MSRP I'm going to run this for a while probably. An added bonus is that I have a larger, hotter, louder card to build the rest of the chassis around. Maybe even Vega can be used in there...

Thanks for Xigmatek Eris...:) Another shoe box.:)

Let's wait for the final assembly ..:)
The Eris is definitely a shoe box. After stripping the case to the frame and drilling out the 5in drive bay it's not too terrible. I'm going to orient the case like the M1 as shown with the gpu at the bottom. I added a dual 2.5 in drive bay so far. Nothing too complicated planned. Replace the front with a custom panel and red ringed vandal power switch which I'm already using. Maybe a clear side panel. Possible RGB dance party. Not 100% sure on that. XD

OK. So major setback. My mobo gave up the ghost while gaming the other night. Hard shutdown while running. After all the usual suspects, psu, gpu, ram etc were tested working and sorted --its the board. I sent it back to NewEgg for a refund today.

Having sold the 1050ti from my Mod Mini I had to get back into action. The ShoeBox was cute but hot AF and I needed easy access and a working machine ASAP. After pulling my xeon and z97 board from said Mod Mini well after midnight
... I am running...

The case is actually the remains of a friends Mom's Gatway branded PC circa 2005ish. I kept the skeleton only thinking of using it for a test bench or mod or honestly-- who knows. Its kind of growing on me though and can take mATX.. So, my Ryzen aspirations are on hold while I decide on another board. Maybe Asus or someone will give us a feature rich mATX board to stuff in here soon? It has room for that 1kW PSU you need for Vega overclocking so there's that... ;)

My ITX Ryzen project is on hold for me for a bit while I decide though.
