Hello,

My current SFF build consists in :

- ASRock AB350 mini-itx motherboard
- I used to have a 2200G but just could put my hands on a Pro 3900 at a fairly good price
- Currently, I've Corsair Vengeance 2666MHz 2x8GB RAM but upgraded to Patriot Viper 3200MHz 2x16GB
- I've an SSD 250GB for the OS and programs and a HDD 2TB for the rest (data, game install folders, ...)
- I've a GTX 1650 (low profile)

The Ryzen 9 Pro 3900 will come without cooler. I was just wondering which cooler should I use.
I was thinking about this one : Inter-Tech Argus SU-800 RGB

But the diameter is 120mm. I was wondering if it's too big for my mini-itx board and it'd not create issue with the RAM slots.

Best regards,
K.

After some reading, I found that the AXP90-X53 would be a good candidate.
It claims to handle TDP of 155W where the Pro 3900 is rated 65W (under heavy load, it can go up to 88-90W).

Now, I'm checking the Scythe Shuriken 2 and Shuriken 3 Big.
In terms of size, the 2 is good but I've doubt if it can handle the 3900. Still compiling data.
Shuriken 3 Big might be better but I've to check if it fits my case and motherboard.

So I came with a short list :

Scythe Big Shuriken 3 (unkown TDP)
Thermalright AXP90-X57 (TDP 155W)
Thermalright AXP120-X67 (TDP 200W)
ID-Cooling IS-60 (TDP 130W)
ID-Cooling IS-55 (TDP 125W)
BeQuiet! Shadow Rock LP (TDP 130W)

The Scythe Big Shuriken 3 is marked compatible with my motherboard but I've not found it's actual TDP. If it's good, it'd be a good contender.
The AXP90-X57 perfectly fits my build but the AXP120-X67 seem superior. However, I've still to find if it'd be compatible with my motherboard.

Then, there are these last 3 that could still work with a rated TDP which is the double of the rated TDP of the CPU.
I'd anyway leave the 3900 with the stock settings which shall limit it to 88W max if I'm not wrong.

Something that I'll consider is also the installation and see if it could bend the motherboard or not.

Hi,

I went a different direction. I replaced my 3900 by a 5600X because (1) there was no really appropriate cooling solution for a 3900 in the Silverstone SG05 Lite and because (2) the 3900 was anyway overkill for the best LP GPU I could find (GTX 1650).
