Welp I guess they're launching May 24th... The article mentions a domestic launch (Taiwan?) so I wonder if NA will get a launch date of June/July as sales support said in my previous post.

DeskMini X600 unboxing by ASRock themself, lol:

For anyone planning to watch, he only starts opening the box around 35min mark.

Oh my god that was a hard slog - LONG video, not much content but... here are my key notes:
- New smaller power pack is good. BUT it's still only 120W so users may have similar issues to the X300 when slamming a 5700G. Especially given PCIe4.0/5.0 SSDs also use more power.
- Board and internal connector layout are almost identical - this is good news for anyone using printed cases or custom equipment. I think the VRM heatsink may be slightly taller? Hard to tell. There is a new VERY tall capacitor near the VRM sink that may cause issues if you've got tight clearances around that area.
- Both rear USB ports are now USB3 but no additional ones (we knew this already but still important to note)
- Disappointed you still have to completely remove the motherboard to access the rear SSD - I had hoped for a slight redesign of the chassis internals to allow for replacing that disk more easily. Not a major issue but would've been nice to see.
- The presenter pointed out the updated BIOS chip - which is a larger capacity so we should hopefully expect that there won't be issues with CPU/APU support like previous generation AMD boards.

SFFMunkee, nice summary 👍

Cant wait to replace my Minisforum UM790 with DeskMini X600.

Interesting, there is two different options: X600 and X600W - the main difference is that X600W will come with 1 x Intel® AC-3168 Wi-Fi Kit - what, this is so old Wi-Fi card...really, ASRock ?

In UM790 I have Intel Killer Wi-Fi 6E AX1675x 160Mhz 210NGW - out of pure curiosity, I started to see if anything newer had come out in the meantime and saw that there is also Intel Killer Wi-Fi 6E AX1690
I added both to the comparison: AX1675 vs AX1690 and the main difference is that AX1690 supports

TX/RX Streams
AX1675

2x2
AX1690

2x2 (Intel® Double Connect Technology)
Max Speed2.4 Gbps~3.0 Gbps

What is Intel Double Connect Technology
Intel Double Connect Technology Product Brief: Wi-Fi 6E AX411 and Intel Killer AX1690
I wonder if the DeskMini X600 motherboard must also meet some technical requirements in order for this technology to be supported or I just can buy it and use it :) ?

I'm a little bit confused about RAM support: https://www.asrock.com/nettop/AMD/DeskMini X600 Series/index.us.asp#Memory

There is Kingston Fury KF564S38IBK2-32 which is the only known manufacturer, who supports RAM speed at 6400 Mhz.
RAM spec sheet: https://www.kingston.com/datasheets/KF564S38IBK2-32.pdf

There is:

• Default (JEDEC): DDR5-4800 CL40-39-39 @ 1.1V
• XMP Profile #1: DDR5-6400 CL38-40-40 @ 1.35V
• XMP Profile #2: DDR5-6000 CL38-38-38 @ 1.35V
• XMP Profile #3: DDR5-5600 CL40-40-40 @ 1.1V

So I guess X600 MoBo will supoort XMP profile then, what is Intel's technology ?

I think the wifi cards are fairly universal, assuming you buy a standard M.2 A/E key part and not a CNVi
The tricky part could be getting right length antenna cables from the wifi card to the rear panel.

I'd wait for official release and first hands-on perspectives before buying RAM, see what people are trying in them :)

I've received an ASRock X600 DeskMini for review.

Great excite.
OH MY GOD THAT'S SO EXCITING!!

What CPU/APU and memory are you pairing it with? (Did they supply some?)
Interested to see how the APU performs with overclocked SODIMM DDR5 and what the power usage looks like at full tilt!
(I had my 5600G on X300 at 4000/C20)

@SFFMunkee I bought an 8600G and a pair of TeamGroup 5600 16GB SODIMMs out of my own pocket for testing. APU is here now, memory should be here by Wednesday.

Nothing supplied with the system, alas. I would have had the memory already but I derped and forgot DeskMini = SODIMM.

When do you have to return it by? Tempted to order the fastest SODIMM RAM I can find and an 8700G for you to test with

Regarding Deskmini and Jupiter X600 CPU Support, I don't see any 8XXX non G models supported. Is that just a matter of waiting for the BIOS support?

The 8000 F processors lack an iGPU so will be unusable in the Desk mini or Jupiter.
