Sneak peak: TeamGroup Elite DDR5-5600 16gb x 2 works fine with the 8600G
TED516G5600C46A-S01

Couldn't find any QVL listed memory locally for a non exorbitant price so went with these.

Are they running happily/easily at 5600MHz? (CL46 :( )

I'm considering making an order of a couple of other bits to test in the X600...

Obviously, a Ryzen 8700G

Plus a 2x32GB kit, probably either:
G.Skill - F5-5600S4040A32GX2-RS or Kingston - KF556S40IBK2-64

Or if I can find a high clock, low latency 2x48GB kit, I'd even be tempted to test that out...

::EDIT:: I found these - KF564S38IBK2-32 -> only 32GB but rated for 6400 CL38!? Would have to help the iGPU performance, right??

SFFMunkee, it would be nice if you going to test these Kingston Fury KF564S38IBK2-32 what you mentioned. Would like to know if 6400mhz will work on X600

Doing also preparations for X600 - Ordered:

1. CPU Cooler:
Noctua NH-L9a-AM5 from amazon.de for 49.99 €
2. Thermal paste: Arctic MX-6 for 3,98 €
3. Antennas: from Amazon.de for 9.99 €

Overall build would be:

1. CPU: 8700G
2. RAM: Kingston Fury Impact XMP 32GB 6400MT/s DDR5 CL38 SODIMM Kit with 2 - KF564S38IBK2-32 - need confirmation that those speeds really work
3. SSD 1: Crucial T705 CT1000T705SSD3 PCIe Gen5 NVMe M.2 1 TB
4. SSD 2: Dilemma atm. Thought for 4TB SSD (only for media, like videos and photos), but those are pricey. Maybe considering 4TB HDD 🤔
5. Wi-Fi card: Wi-Fi 6E Intel Killer 1675x AX210

I'll do my best - still waiting on some clients to actually pay me so running low on funds right now.
With any luck I'll be able to order the 8700G/RAM in time before I get my turn to text the DeskMini!

I'll also be re-using my 4TB Kingston KC3000 and AX210 wireless card so can let you know how those go :)

If your 4TB is just for storage there are a few much much cheaper 4TB SSD options like the Team MP34, PNY CS2241, Kingston NV2, Crucial P3. I haven't used any of these or even read much about them so can't vouch for their quality, but they're way more keenly priced than 4TB NVMe drives were not that long ago!

Personally - I'd buy a PCIe4.0 boot disk and use the money saved for the storage drive. (Unless you already have the T705??)

Plus don't forget you've also got the option to add a couple of 2.5" SATA disks in a DeskMini :)

Lets bid higher and quote the current price on geizhals.de (mindfactory): 233.85 EUR

The MSRP converted to Euros would be 158.19 Euro, so thats ca. 75 Euro more.
Acc. to the price progress statistic, it started at 218 Euro a month ago.

Will pick up an 8700G once the DeskMini and/or RAM arrives (readily available at local PC store). :)

::EDIT:: I might grab an Intel BE202 adapter at the same time, although I don't have any other WiFi7 equipment to test against lol

::EDIT:: OK so I also thought - well what am I gonna do with these SODIMMs after I return / pass on the review DeskMini.. and ordered a UM780XTX...

Intel BE2XX doesn't work with any AMD Hardware right now.
Oh - I didn't know this, thanks for the heads up! Sadly it's the only M.2 wifi card at my favourite local store. Might just swap an AX210 from my other machine for now.

Aight - SODIMMs on order and I'm about to order a 8700G.

Someone just volunteered to print my OGRE250 enclosure.
Got my RTX4060 and GaN250.

It's almost DeskMini-ing time
