I've being tweaking my ram for a while after BIOS with ryzen 3000 support was released for my mobo.

This was 100% stable

Max speed archived with given timings.
Wasn't stable :(

Final best stable result 3666 19-21-21-42 1.44V
Not too shabby I have a asrock fatal1ty b350 itx and might end up getting this now if this is possible. The original 2666 @ cl 19 vs ~3666 @cl19 found nice. Then I can finally use the black ridge that has been sitting here for a month in its box lol.

Thx in advnace for the answer

yes. @GucksTV made a video about installing an a12x15 on the black ridge with vlp ram. he uses an msi board, but the installation should be about the same.

Well, if it fits that particular MSI board it does not mean it will fit in just any other board. The placement and size of the IO, CPU socket, heatsink and power connectors are important when clearance is that low. For example, the Black Ridge with slim 12mm fan does not fit the Gigabyte Z370N unless you remove the Mosfet heatsink (not recommended for this board since the VRM is poor, other boards might fare better) or make a small cut/chamfer on the 24 pin connector. Also when you configure the fans to pull air towards the socket, you have to use some kind of spacer to prevent the 92mm bracket holes from obstructing the fan blades, which reduces the clearance with the motherboard components even more.

Hi, I just want to say that I got a pair of 8gb Adata Vlp memory recently, and did a 1.35v overclock. I am very happy with the result so far, especially with the constrained voltage.

I started with 3400mhz, and worked the timings down to 18-19-18-38. I stopped when I tried 18-18-18-38, where changing the tRCD value to 18 causes memtest to show errors.

Update: Tested 3200mhz as well, and tighten the final value tRAS for 3400mhz. Final values are 18-19-18-34 for 3466, and 16-17-16- 32 for 3200mhz at 1.35v.

According to the compatibility checker on the crucial website, this ECC ram is not compatible with the Gigabyte Aorus X570 mITX board. However, the Gigabyte website says the board supports ECC unbuffered memory. I would assume they would be compatible, but can anyone confirm either way?

Just received some A-DATA 8GB x 2 VLP sticks from Aliexpress. Current OC is 3600MHz 20-21-21-40 1.35v. Unfortunately I am not able to tighten the latency on any frequency. It always sticks around the same ratio (3466/CL19, 3333/CL18, 3000/CL16). I stuck with the highest frequency due to the best AIDA64 results.

Edit #1: Settled with 4000MHz 22-23-23-44 (timing was always around 10.5-11ns no matter what frequency I used)
Edit #2: Was able to run 4000MHz stable in P95 for 1 hour, but retesting I ended up getting errors a couple minutes in for some reason. Changed to 3800MHz 21-22-22-42 @ 1.4v.
Edit #3: Figured it out! Looks like it was my tRCD and tRP. Stable at 4000MHz 22-24-24-44 1.4v ~50800MB/s AIDA64.

Hello, just ordered the Adata DDR4 8gb 2666mhz - https://www.aliexpress.com/item/32968491664.html?spm=a2g0s.9042311.0.0.481d4c4daZkj40
I assume this is the right one.

I don't know about the previous prices but its currently £25.93 a stick + £0.52 shipping which makes it an absolute bargain.
For comparison the cheapest stick of DDR4 8gb 2666mhz of Corsair from scan.co.uk is £39.07 + £4.00 shipping.

I'm off on holiday next week until the 7th Nov so the slow delivery won't bother me this time.

It is definitely a lot cheaper than it used to be when I got it. All ram is cheaper now lol

I haven't been following things since then but it would be great if we had a higher end option than the Adata sticks. At least the Adata are pretty overclockable albeit with loose timings.

samsung put out a vlp ddr3 module rated for 1600mhz at 1.35v that could easily overclock to 2400mhz with tight timings. it was also a black pcb. look up "m379b5273dh0-yk0" or "samsung dreen ddr3".

The only vlp b die I know of are these: m4cs-8gs1sc0j-b I believe they are 2x8gb but there is also a 2x16gb.

I don't think it matters what die it is so long as it can overclock with fairly tight timings - I know there are great b die alternatives now and b die always gets over hyped (and over priced), so maybe better if it isn't b die if that keeps price lower

Anyone know of some vlp b die (that I can actually buy since apperantly its only c die now from that one website from earlier pages), Micron e die, or hynix cjr ram I can buy? If not what do you guys recommend im planning to get a 3800x so ram speed is important

I'm curious too. The adata one seems to be the most popular but no one has been able to get tight timings on it. Also the aliexpress link says you may get VLP or just normal RAM, it's up to chance..makes more sense to buy it using Superbuy then.

Yes, there is unbuffered ("UDIMM" or "DIMM") ECC VLP which should work on consumer boards. If you try to get some ECC ram, make sure it is not Reg/Registered/RDIMM as those for sure won't work on consumer boards.

As Vlad502 said, Adata has non-ECC VLP dimms. They are only selling it in China and Adata does not have product info on this ram anywhere on their website.

I have 2x8gb 2666mhz on order as of yesterday, from tmall purchasing through Superbuy. They seem cheaper and with better shipping options than going through Aliexpress. Additionally I dislike how many of the aliexpress sellers are using DDR3 specifications (1.5v, CL9) in the product info for this DDR4 ram.

@NinoPecorino kindly provided me with the link to where he purchased his. I haven't see anyone test this ram yet, but from what NinoPecorino shared with me the ICs appear to be Spectek (low bin Micron) and the 2666mhz kits are CL19.

So... will these work? https://www.newegg.com/p/0RN-003K-0...DR4&cm_re=VLP_DDR4-_-0RN-003K-00206-_-Product
