Crucial have a 16gb VLP (with ECC, so you need a motherboard that can work with it in non-ECC mode)

Some experience with my VLP-RAM for you all:

My purble ADATA 2x8GB VLP Kit from china did not run better on my new R9 3900X than on my R7 1700 (3000C16). In fact, I found them only stable on the 1700. On the 3900X, I haven't found a stable setting on 3000mhz+.

On the other hand, my very low binned samsung B-die RAM 2x8GB, which run on the R7 1700 @3200C15 (1.49V) is now running @3600C16 on my R9 3900x (1.35V). Unfortunately, this one is not VLP.

I have now ordered the Crucial ECC VLP 2x16GB Kit: CT16G4XFD8266. I already know, these are micron chips. I am hoping on Micron E-Die, which should run very well on Ryzen 3rd gen.

My Kingston VLP arrived a few days ago. I haven't had time to try it out yet but here are some pictures of it. Single sided 8GB sticks. I do prefer the green over purple!

My Adata 2666 MHz VLP 8GBx2 comes with Hynix chip (Bought from Aliexpress). I'm using with Ryzen 3900x + X570i and I can overclock the ram to 3200 Mhz 16-18-18-36 @ 1.37V Stable in Aida 64 CPU+FPU+Cache+Mem test.
I have tried 3466 MHz 18-18-19-34 @ 1.42 V also stable in the same test. But it only works for 2 days and didn''t post. So I have to dialed back to 3200 MHz setting, no problem so far.

By the way, anyone know where I can buy 16GBx2 VLP kit? The one from Aliexpress is regular height.

Just got my Adata and mine are the Micron chips (also bought from Aliexpress). I must have got the old batch. My manufacture date is 34/19.

Anyway been playing around with the Adata and I've settled on 3200MHz 16-18-18-18-36 @ 1.35V
Pretty good considering they come at 2666MHz C19 @ 1.2V. ?

Mind sharing the Aliexpress URL from which you bought your sticks?

I'm wondering how Adata Hynix compares with Kingston Nanya. I've briefly tested my Kingston VLP and it is definitely better than my Adata Spectek, but pretty much anything is better then that. My Kingston was able to do the timings @Rich Tea mentioned (3200MHz 16-18-18-18-36 @ 1.35V) So they are probably similar, but I haven't pushed my kingston to its limits yet.

Do you have a link to where you purchased your Kingston VLP from? Can't seem to find that specific model anywhere.

I ordered from provantage and my total came to $84.01 including tax & $5.95 shipping. It should be a little cheaper now because it was $35.94 per dimm when I bought it.

There are several sites selling it, but they aren't the obvious ones like amazon - easiest way to find them is google searching kingston's part number, which is KVR26N19S8L/8 for 1 x 8GB 2666 (someone had listed the part numbers here in the thread months ago, which is how I found it)

I don't know what avadirect charges for shipping but I imagine avadirect and provantage are among the cheapest places to get it in the US
