I know, obviously I meant good in comparison with other VLP RAMs mentioned in this thread, especially the Adata one....
Are there any "reasonably priced" RAMs with better latency and still Very Low Profile?

OEM and affordable sticks usually don't have problems with moderate clocking. You can probably just set them to 2666 CL12/14 territory at 1T 1,2V and forget about it.

Has anyone looked at the ADATA purple DDR4 UDIMMs in the "16GBx1 2666MHz" configuration?

They're listed from these AliExpress sellers: 1, 2 -- approximately $104US per DIMM.

I read earlier about the 8GB modules being a gamble WRT actually being VLP, but is that also the case for the 16GB UDIMMs?

Tempted to pick up a pair, but not if they're actually normal-height.

I would try buying it from Taobao using Superbuy if you're gonna risk $100 per dimm. They take the product out of it's package and take a photo for Quality Check and Accuracy before shipping.

I think it's too risky considering https://i.vgy.me/6p3aw9.png

Here's the Superbuy link for anyone interested: https://www.superbuy.com/en/page/buy?nTag=Home-search&from=search-input&url=https://detail.tmall.com/item.htm?spm=a230r.1.14.25.5228292aMdfqZA&id=556059913403&ns=1&abbucket=16&skuId=3855026621843

Seems like they don't do the inspection service on "professional" goods?

Anyway, it's just over 1000RMB or $150US + shipping from Superbuy.
the "professional inspect" is for a more in-depth inspection, i.e. putting into a computer and testing it's functionality. superbuy will take pictures when they receive the dimms. if they're the tall dimms you can send them back at(usually)no cost. the return process is very easy, especially when the product doesn't match the picture that the seller used. i have had to do it with multiple dimms and there was never a charge or an issue in getting a refund.

before you hack up that beautiful board, maybe check the spacing on the vrm heatsink mounting holes and try to find something from enzotech that fits. no need to destroy that heatsink assembly.
There's a 50% chance you can just unscrew the heatsink from below. I did it on my asus z97i. Then, you can get adhesive 1cm mini heatsinks to attach to the mosfets

Will check it out, thanks for the ideas.

Potentially a new VLP option coming around! You'll have to remove the heatsinks, but they are VLP underneath. It looks like the pcb is purple... i wonder if these are actually just the ADATA dimms with heatsinks slapped on?

Yeah I know, but I mean since VLP Ram have lower Mhz than what's recomanded, I don't know how it'll work.
