I go have a Z87 Gryphon and trully loves it. Rock solid and great looking motherboard

I haven't heard anything. Getting ASUS to do the X99-M WS was difficult, they don't seem to put much effort into mATX these days.

While that may be true, they still happen to have the best mATX option Z170 has.

True, I will most likely go with the Gene if no gryphon is released, which is most likely the case

I would have also prefered a non-ROG board from Asus. Maybe Broadwell-E will bring some interesting mATX boards along, these might coincide with the Cerberus release in summer somewhat.

Depending on how things play out with component releases, maybe kaby lake or Zen will bring a lot to the table regarding mATX
