Just received my sm580 and noticed a few things with the panels...
Not sure how to embed..

Has anyone else experienced this with their vented and windowed panels?

Hi guys I’m in the process of planning a custom soft tube loop for SM580. Any idea if corsair xdr5 rgb pump/reservoir combo will fit beside aorus 2080ti xtreme waterblock? I’ll be mounting it to the front panel grill. I can’t see any info for the dimensions of the corsair xdr5.

the gpu block is (L)291.29, sm580 gpu clearance is (L)325.

Any recommendations? I’m having a hard time figuring out what res/pump to get.

Up to about 33 mm gap from gpu to front inner wall?

If you can dremel a 63x63mm hole in the front metal (and dont mind the hose size adapters) maybe you can fit this 38mm thick one (38x62x62).

Since your RAD is top mounted and above everything else, and an Alphacool with ports on both sides of the rad you could cut a few holes circle holes for the fill/air out ports, and drop the need for a reservoir.

I have a similar problem with my Ophion Evo (Top and bottom Rad build) (more like 45mm clearance with my GPU), and I'll be cutting a hole the same way. (after I move the middle plate and cut front holes for the psu as well) I'm also running reservoirless with top fill ports.

Thanks for the reply guys, Deng that’s a lot of job This is going to be my first custom loop so I’m not planning to do any modifications in the case and just use a res/pump combo like EKWB EK-XRES 100 DDC 3.2 PWM Elite (incl. Pump) or get a single unit DDC pump and put it in a res ex. alphacool laing ddc310 + phanteks glacier r160c.

Hello i just want to show you my new setup, like i'm following this thread since 5 month now. It's a way for me to say thank you for all your response, your questions, your recommandation, and to say thank you to Sliger because I cancelled 3 times my order (on density.sk) because i was not sure about my choice....

It seems good right?

I think the fact that help me a lot it's about the aio. This is asus ryuo 240mm. But if i can give some advice, you should take noctua fan on this aio because the fan coming is noisy.

I heard also the pump sometimes.

On the bottom i put some Noctua Industrials Fans... that was not so noisy. Less noisy than AIO fan. We can make some improvement here in the fan power config.
I would suggest also to use vented panel for 3950x (not like me)... Especially in case of your computer is inside an hot room.

PS: I saw theres a little room where i can put 2 ssd (on the back of front panel). So it should be Good to get up to 4 ssd inside. :-)

PS2: If you want to save money, it's not necessary to buy nvme gen4 like me... really... you should pay me some beers or take your best boy/girlfriend (the best, not yours) and give them some flowers, a smile, and a very pleaseant word ("You could not imagine how much you're presence is so important in my life" for example). :-)

PS3: Yes, there's is an OLED screen where you see the logo.... It's perfect to control temp :-)
PS4: If you have an hot blower (or heater, i don't know the correct word), you can put it off and put your computer instead... because air which goes out is really hot (maybe 40-50°) even if cpu is under 30°! :-)

PS5: You should/have to/must buy it... in 2020 :-)

Thanks for reading :-)

will a slim rad fit in the bottom of the sm580? im looking into dual 280mm custom loop in this case
Yes someone got the XSPC TX240 in the bottom of an SM570 (so it would certainly fit in the SM580) however they were only able to fit 1 fan on it, not two. You could also raise the feet and put fans on the underside of the chassis.

Up and running until I nab some custom cables and possibly some other 140mm fans. Picked up a Strix while I wait for my FTW3 rma to be done; I must have gotten lucky seeing as the Strix has no coil whine; while all 3 of the FTW3 cards I had all had obnoxious coil whine.

Im running into a similar issue with 2070 super fe gpus too. First one i tested with a corsair sf600 plat and it was dead silent.. minimal fan noise and no dreaded fan clicking that a lot of people have reported with this card. I switched over to a sf750 plat psu and the card sounds like a baseball card ticking in the bike wheels from idle to full load. Im replacing the gpu to see which is affecting the other more.

Sure coil whine is not easy to handle as it's a combination of factor and compatibility : psu, gpu.

Yeah, I dunno coil whine was the same on FTW3 with EVGA 750G3 and Corsair SFX750 Plat. But things seem smooth now. Trying to get quotes for some unsleeved cables from DreambigByRay on Etsy.

Debating on snagging a couple more Arctic 140mm's to replace the NZXT fans on the X62 or just swapping for some 140mm Noctuas.

Love the system, love the case and the build experience. However one small regret... I wish I would have skipped the front I/O on the case itself.

I wonder if it's possible to run Ryzen 3950X with semi-passive cooling - like Shadow Rock LP without fan, both sides not vented, and only 2 high pressure fans intake on bottom. Also I was thinking about Grizzly Conductonaut as a thermal paste. I read this topic on reddit, and was starting to thinking if I could run 3700X or even 3950X like that in sm550.
