What about temperature during intensive gaming sessions? GPU is not cooking SSD?..

It might be a bit different in the 550, but in the 580 I've got top and bottom fans all set to exhaust. My 1080ti gaming X actually runs cooler than it did in my Meshify-C and has next to no impact on the SSD temps. Playing Total Warhammer 2 for an extended period and the 660p only rose by 5 C.

Thanks for this feedback on ssd temperature. Maybe on sm550/560 it will be a little bit higher temperature as it’s passive top exhaust but it should be definitely similar.
Your comparison vs meshify-c makes completely sense following my personal experience.

Really really wish you would make a version of the SM550/560 with 2 slot GPU and 75mm CPU clearance (like SV540) so can fit NH-L12S. Really like the look/design of the SM series but these split-style chassis never have the cpu cooler height for a decent C-type cooler like the NH-L12S, Big Shuriken 3, Thermalright AXP-100 Cu.

To be honest, C-shape cooler has often be complicated with other hardware compatibility (RAM, VRM heatsink, GPU, etc..) and maintenance (more difficult to reach area near cpu)
I was using such cooler in my former setup in early 2010's (Father of all gaming mini ITX case : sugo 07..:))

Right now I prefer so much either compact aircooler (90x90 like Noctua nh-l9i/a or up to NH-U9S) or watercooling (Asetek 645LT is really great) to keep clean motherboard.

Edit : for comparison I'm adding IS-60 picture from @rfarmer

Quick question to understand difference between SM cases.

Please could you confirm that bottom fan size :
  • SM550 : 2x120mm (sure of it)
  • SM570 : 2x120 (almost sure)
  • SM560 : 2x120mm?
  • SM580 : 2x140mm?
Is it correct that SM560 does not have bottom fans specs than SM580 please?

550 and 570 can both have 120mm bottom fans. Edit: the 560 has 120mm fan mounting holes not 140mm.

560 and 580 can both have 140mm bottom fans.

570 and 580 can both accommodate top fans and radiators in addition to bottom fans.

Edit: Modified to reflect correct information.

Unless the 560 was revised, it only accommodates 120mm fans. It has the physical space to fit 140mm fans, but the holes drilled are for 105mm spacing (120mm fan standard).

ahah my question was not so obvious as I would have assumed SM560 and SM580 would share some bottom fans holes..:D
By the way i forgot to mention I extracted info from sliger.com..:)

To summarize : SM560 : 120mm bottom fans and SM580 : 140mm bottom fans, am i correct?

Ah, my mistake. The 580 has holes drilled for 140mm fans and the 560 has the same footprint, so it was my previous understanding that the 560 also accommodated 140 mm fans without modification.

Yes that's what I have found (previously had a 560, since moved to 580).

Again, assuming the latest version has not been revised.

Why did you move from sm560 to sm580 please? I’m also hesitating between them to, eventually, move my Cerberus-X to SM case series..:)

The only reason was because I could not find a way to fit my pump for custom loop in the 560 without modification of the case. Because of the move to 580, not only did I fit my pump, I was also able to fit a reservoir and 2nd radiator, so all is well!

Thanks for your feedback.

In my personal case I still hesitating to replace my main gaming setup from Cerberus-X to SM560. Main reason is to recycle properlly my Cerberus-X as I love it..:D
Christmas break will be useful to make some brain storming..:D

Anyone mind sharing custom cable lengths for SM580? Thinking about getting some unsleeved cables made for it, just curious about the lengths.

After moving and dealing with just the MORA3 just being large, going to give my FTW3! Stock cooler another shot see if I can get temps under control; breaking the water back down and see where I am at... should update tomorrow hopefully with some photos finally.

I guess this is wishful thinking, but I just modded a Big Shuriken 2 Rev b cooler (58mm with fan) to fit an AM4 ITX board and I am in love with this case. Is there a way to make it fit?
