Assembled my long-since-due Reviung34 (with Little Pilot KAM keycaps) :

Reviung34 (non-split) keyboard kit (gtips/reviung GitHub) :
  • Black PCB with black FR4 switch plate
  • Laser-cut 3mm EVA foam plate (goes between the PCB and the switch plate)
  • Clear acrylic bottom plate + clear acrylic diffuser
  • PRO Micro USB-C (black)
  • Gateron PRO Yellow Milky switches
  • Little Pilot keycaps (KAM profile)
My current soldering station is not suited for tiny tiny SMD soldering, so still a WIP, but I wanted to do as much as I could and try the switches and keycaps.

I'm in the market for a new one, settled on a JBC CD-2BQF, to finish this project and start the next one, a DIY trackball for which @steelfractal kindly 3D printed the whole shell.

I switched from fullsized french AZERTY to 60% ANSI US Intl (QWERTY) a decade ago and it's been a smooth transition. I do not miss the function row, nor the nav cluster or numpad. As I suffer from osteoarthritis in both hands, I wanted to move my hands as little as possible, hence reducing the number of keys.

That's a layout called Seniply, it's derived from Colemak-DH

Nice. I’ve been thinking of getting either an Iris CE like that but separated. Or just retail buying a Voyager from ZSA.

would need to get one for work and home. Also for work I’d need a dedicated numpad

A MiSTer triple stack and Reflex Adapt device (hopefully the latency is good enough, otherwise I'll go the SNAC route). I'm trying to get back into speedrunning Super Metroid and figured I'd be able to do a million other things as well with this as opposed to just a SNES lol. I'm still searching for the right CRT.

EDIT: BTW check out those dope colors.

Xmas came early because sales and things are only going to get more expensive. Omen 32” QD OLED. For whatever reason it is only sold on the USA by BestBuy.

Funny part? There are SFF machines smaller than the lower brick for the thing🤭

portable sff 16" 2880x1800 120hz OLED display from aliexpress came, for less than $200 USD the specs of this thing is kinda crazy.
still have to see what kind of early adopter issues I run into (this monitor first of its kind if im not mistaken?), but for $200?? I had to take a gamble XD

Nice! Good test for these things--search "HDR fireworks" on Youtube, how painfully bright do the pinpoint flashes get? Fireplace is also a good one, as non-HDR only kind of looks orange-ish, compared to good HDR which actually looks ike fire.

a bit hard to capture on phone camera but honestly very acceptable for $200, the HDR tonemapping is not great and there is a slight pink and orange cast to highlights but it's quite useable especially in game. the colors in SDR are decent. and it's an OLED afterall the microcontrast is unbeatable. I use my LG C2 in SDR mode 80% of the time anyways so I'll probably still stick to SDR on this, but man I still can't get over the price.

As a fellow owner of a portable monitor from AliExpress, my only problem was that after about 2 years, I start to see vignetting / dark areas on the corners 😥

Mine is a 14", 1920 x 1080 IPS touch screen though.

But since yours is OLED, probably you will not encounter my problem.

dang that's unfortunate, i have another 14" 1080p 144hz one from aliexpress too that one's still going strong, haven't used it in a while though and this completely replaces it so i should probably get rid of it XD

small update, got an $8 magnetic stand and a DP + USB PD -> USB C cable along with a 180 deg adapter from taobao
the stand is easily disassembled and the whole thing slides into the front compartment of my carry on while the PC goes into the main compartment
getting close to the SFF endgame while I nomad around asia

sure, here you go:
aliexpress:

they are usually marketed as "AR glasses cables"

as for the keyboard it's the CIDOO V68, the keycaps are a clone of GMK expo:
funny story about these keycaps is that the original set is made with UV printing and people were complaining that GMK is charging $150 that wears off after 3 months of use, but these clones are pbt dyesub so they should last much longer

Thanks. Hmmm "AR glasses cables".. so that's why it's so hard to search for these LOL.

GMK keycaps usually have doubleshot construction so the font doesn't really "wear off" in a typical sense. I mean one would need to use it for quite some time until the ABS plastic wears off to the point it affects how the font is displayed.

But yeah I understand your point. All my keycap sets (except one GMK) are all PBT dyesub or PBT doubleshot exactly for that reason. Doesn't mean PBT doesn't wear off, but it takes a while compared to ABS.

unlike regular doubleshot GMK sets, this set in particular is UV printed, so they wear off like regular office keyboard with printed fonts

here is another GMK set with similar UV printed letters and people reported the font wearing off within weeks

Freshly arrived: ID-Cooling IS-55. It's indeed of the advertised height, ie. 57 mm.

Aside of wanting to play around with bigger fans, I simply wanted a CPU cooler that could actually fit both inside the S300 and potentially also the K39 (official specs say: 55 mm, but standoffs are an official option, so yeah, we'll see how it works out).

cu, w0lf.
