So, I'm slowly accumulating components for my 2nd rig.

Historically, CPUs in the Athlon category are power hungry. The current iteration - Athlon 3000G - is not an exception. It has 2 cores & 4 threads, running at 3.5 Ghz base clock. Not to mention the integrated Radeon Vega 3, with 3 Radeon graphic cores running at 1100 Mhz. At total combined TDP of 35 watt, the Athlon poses a serious challenge to any PSU. It will be interesting to see how the V750 will fare.

😆

You guys have now got me worried about the 120W brick on my Deskmini...
It seems to be coping with my overpowered Athlon 200GE, but I may regret that 3400G I've bought without getting a bigger power supply 🤔 🤣

Not as extravagant as the post above me, but yesterday I purchased polishing bit for my Proxxon rotary tool. Also, my short generic wifi antennas have arrived.

Spoiler: the short antennas perform admirably for its size, but unfortunately there's a wall between my PC & my router, so the signal strength got affected pretty badly. For context, on 5Ghz band my default Gigabyte Aorus antenna got 78% signal strength while the short antennas got 48% signal strength. I still managed to load Youtube 1080p videos without waiting/buffering, but the margin is a bit tight for my taste. Also, for context, my router is rather old TP-Link Archer C7 (or C1200, can't remember).

I will still keep them though, as I believe the signal quality will improve in a more open area/room & it's really useful in tight spaces.

Edit: how I checked wifi strength on Windows 11: open command prompt, type & run "netsh wlan show interfaces"

Edit 2: it seems that on 2.4 Ghz band the short antennas fare much better. The Gigabyte antenna is already inside the box, so I compared with the MSI antennas that come with the B450i Gaming Max AC. They both get at around 82% signal strength. So yeah I guess it's true that 5Ghz band is faster but more susceptible to interference, while the 2.4 Ghz is slower but more.. robust.

Above is a Reviung34 (non-split) keyboard kit (gtips/reviung GitHub) :
  • Black PCB with black FR4 switch plate
  • Laser-cut 3mm EVA foam plate (goes between the PCB and the switch plate)
  • Clear acrylic bottom plate + clear acrylic diffuser
  • PRO Micro USB-C (black)
  • Gateron PRO Yellow Milky switches
Note: I've ordered the kit from 42. Keebs and I highly recommend them. Petr is a lovely guy, everything was well packed in a cut to size shipping box

Above are the keycaps I'll go with. They are from the Little Pilot keycaps set (KAM profile). I have both the Alphas and the Ergo subsets. They are thick dye sublimated PBT with a glossy finish.

I'm planning to use the Seniply layout (based on a modified Colemak-DH). KAM profile being uniform means that it is easier to swap keycaps to try exotic layouts.

Next step: Smol SMD diodes and LEDs soldering 😭 .... I'm not looking forward to it 🤣

You're welcome. Hope you like your new gears.

I'll repeat myself, but I can't help but call those the Hifiman Tsundere 😂.

Nice setup by the way, very clean.
