I kinda like special/unique hardware, so I decided to put a full MoDT (Mobile on DeskTop) build together, featuring the Erying 13500H DDR5 Motherboard and a RTX A2000 8GB (Mobile) from TaoBao

other parts used:

first step: preparing all the cables etc for the power supply:

next, I test fittet the single slot A2000 8GB but unfortunately the power button was in the way, so I needed to do a few mods...

to make that GPU fit, I had to dremel-down a few mm on the power button PCB...

since that wasn't enough, I also had to trim a part of the GPU shroud...

getting the A2000 and the motherboard into RLY-V2 was a real PITA - but with enough patience and taking off the bottom panel, it finally worked!

Dope build! Wonder what the performance and noise look like. Might be pretty quiet given its low wattage.

Where did you manage to get a g-unique psu? I thought Gury had disappeared.

here are some benchmarks:

the Erying board can boost the CPU really high - but about 95W is the absolut max which the IS30 can handle - of course that's not really quiet any more, but I'm planning to upgrade to a Noctua fan

Screenshot 2024-01-19 035945.jpg

more of an issue is the internal ACDC PSU - it adds additional heat which goes straight to the GPU - still need to find a solution for this - either DIY a custom GPU cooler or change to an external brick

Noctua upgrade installed!

temps are the same but less noise - so that's a win :)

link to the fan adapter:

That adapter can also be made from PCB (even in aluminum), which is probably easier/cheaper/quicker :)

How is the IS 30 doing btw?

At full fan speed it's about 1C / 1W on the CPU I'm using. Guess I wouldn't recommend it for CPUs drawing more than 65W.
How was the mounting process?

I now have a Thermalright, but I think the lower variant is one of the worst mounting systems I've come a cross in the last 20 years lol.

the "all-new" IS30(i) comes with plastic backplates and screws in from the top

mounting is easy but I noticed some warping of the motherboard because that plastic backplates are not rigid enough...

Isn't it just a standard Intel backplate, but made of plastic? One can buy a stamped metal one on amazon.de for like 5 EUR with same day delivery... Probably costs pennies (to the cooler manufacturer). Wonder why ID-Cooling went with such a cheapo solution. Package weight, maybe?

yes, exactly! I've also replaced mine with a metal one ;)
(note, the one you linked is for LGA 115X though)

the cooler only costs 70 RMB / 10 EUR in China, so I guess every penny counts ... XD

Yeah, I haven't built a modern Intel machine for a while, kind of forgot about the newer LGA hole spacing.

Awesome build!

I saw on Taobao that they sell an alternative backplate for this case making it suitable for a two slot low profile. Link below

So you think you could fit the A2000 in without mods? Can it still be brickless?

Also description says the case weighs 1.6kg that's seems excessive for something so small, is that correct for yours?

I think you still need trim down the power button PCB to make it fit. I whish they had moved the button placement by a few mm...
Where would you put the ACDC PSU with a 2-Slot card?

I haven't checked the empty weight but my finished build is around 2.4Kg
