Hi! I'm new to the forum, not sure if this is the right place to ask, so feel free to move the topic if needed...
I currently own a PC with a Ryzen 7900 (non-X) and an RTX 4070 Super in an Asus Prime AP201 case.
It is relatively compact but I'd like to go for something really more compact that I could hide below my (small) desk. I like super clean aesthetics, and where I live (Europe) it's harder to get cases like the FormD T1, so I decided to go for the Dan A4 H2O.
Now, my current system is fully optimized for silence:
* CPU is specifically a non-X version for easier cooling, PBO is disabled
* CPU is oversized for the games I play so that it doesn't heat up. A 7900 at 30% will not heat as much as a 7600 at 60% for instance
* CPU cooler is a Thermalright Peerless Assassin 120 SE,
* PSU is a semi-passive, oversized 850W (Corsair RM850x) to allow the fan to almost never run
* GPU is a Ventus 3X model specifically for quieter cooling. I also used custom fan curves.
* I also added one Arctic P12 PWM PST intake fan on the bottom and three exhaust on the top
The system while on light-to-moderate load is absolutely inaudible, even up close it's hard to tell that the PC is on. On heavy loads (e.g. 100% GPU usage) the PC makes a very small amount of noise, the room really has to be silent to hear anything.
And that's basically the highest noise level I'm comfortable with. I don't want to hear the system at all, I'm very - very - sensitive to noise, and I don't wear headphones.
Now, if I downside to a Dan A4 H2O, the airflow will obviously be worse than the AP201 which is a 3x times bigger, all-mesh case. So my question is: is it possible to get this level of silence (without compromising performance too much of course) with an H2O? Or is is impossible?
Downsizing will require me to purchase a new motherboard, a new PSU (Corsair SF750), the case obviously, as well as a new cooler (thought about the Thermalright AXP90-X47 full cooper). But I'd rather not invest that much money before being 100% sure I could have a super, super silent build while gaming at 4K.
Could someone enlighten me on this? Many thanks
