EDIT 12 November 2016: updated version:

END of EDIT

While technically not a case, I feel this is pretty SFF right there, with it's insanely focused and optimized design. You can attach the PSU through holes in the feet, the two slots can house screws when in use and be used as 2,5" or 3,5" mounts. I'm hoping this will be below 50$.

I've thought about designing a test bench but it comes back to the typical SFF case design problem, if you ask 10 people what their ideal test bench would look like you'll get 12 different answers.

Those are both really clever designs, and while I wouldn't have a use for either of them and installation of components is a nightmare, I absolutely love how they were implemented with as few parts as possible.

The Streacom is reminiscent of the recent Naked ITX (caseless) thread over on Hardforum.

I still have a bit of a soft spot for the Antec Skeleton line of open air "cases". Never owned one, but still...

Indeed. I understand why it costs as much, I just hoped it would be less than most higher-end bench cases.
