Ngl, it feels pretty wrong that batch 1 people receives it the same time as kickstarter backers. Now with the separated shipping, looks to be some percentage of batch 1 will even receive before kickstarter backers.

Batch 1 was necessary to make this into reality now that we glance back at it, the tooling costs were enormous, tricky procedures to get good anodizing etc. Kickstarter in it self wouldn’t have been enough to make this into reality.

As for negotiations, we’re in the end-stage now. Got both DHL/UPS and a bunch of other stuff, but DHL/UPS is the best.

So basically the kickstarter goal was set way too low? I mean, the goal was far exceeded and all stretch goals were unlocked, so I had been under the impression that there were ample funds. In hindsight perhaps Kickstarter wouldn't have been the way to go with the cut they take?

I mean we'd still probably find a way to manage, but it would require compromises and it definitely wouldn't have been possible to double-check/improve stuff along the way. Easy choice IMO, just do Batch 1 June pre-orders and eliminate any need for compromising on serious stuff. I don't see how that's different from basically everybody launching a perpetual Indiegogo campaign after their main KS run. I think even Louqe had pre-orders open (on their site) during the whole manufacturing cycle?

Without a doubt I don't think the current path taken was by any means a mistake or could have been improved, I think it just boils down to the fact that the 6-month exclusivity either should not have been offered in the first place (as probably nobody cares) and for those that do, it probably should have been announced as a courtesy that the go-ahead of pre-orders meant that 6-month exclusivity was no longer going to be part of the pledge rewards.

Yeah I think this is a good point & totally slipped my mind at the time! :)

Agree. Straight up lying in Kickstarter, it was supposed to be "6 months before non-backers" which is clearly not true anymore.
Well, we've got a judge here in The Hague specialised in crime's against humanity. You can call them, they do speak your native language (besides Dutch). Swedish law recognises the court so Alex can call his lawyer!

Also as a side point, recently when I bought a game off the EpicGame Store, I was asked to waive my 14 day no-question-asked return before being allowed to proceed with the purchase (in exchange for a 2-hour ingame play time return window). So you probably should implement something of the equivalent so that you are not accountable for the cooling-off period for non-unique products (i.e. all the cases except for the god-of-thunder tier).

As an even side sider note, if the backer of the god-of-thunder tier is around on this forum, I would be super curious as to what designed you finialized your unique mjolnir to.

Oh man, that’s great news!

But for real, all I’m after is honest communication. I know from experience that it’s a nightmare dealing with Chinese sub-cons especially when it comes to schedules. I just hope that Thor-Zone would have learnt from past errors in estimates from the factory and not just relayed these guesstimates to backers.

About waiving your rights to the 14-day period, one could include something like that in the terms of purchase but I doubt it would hold up in court. Usually basic consumer rights like this can’t be made worse via any terms.

I’m sure all of this will be wiped from my memory once I receive the case though 😁 I appreciate Thor-Zone has gone through all this, not too many quality mini-itx cases in the market.

You're right, I guess online games come under specifically the first bullet point, and wouldn't apply for a case. I guess the shield-of-founders panel could be argued as a one-off custom item, but the rest is the same for everybody.

The professional can also expressly ask you to give up your right of withdrawal so that services can begin before the expiry of the 14-day period, with your consent. This for example the case for:
  • Online purchase of software for download;
  • A subscription to a dating site with immediate access to the service.
For specific goods, you do not have a right to withdrawal either:
  • custom-order or personalised items (ex. engraved jewelry, photo album);
  • goods that spoil or perish quickly;
  • goods which have been unsealed after delivery by you and which cannot be returned for reasons of hygiene or health protection;
  • sealed audio or visual recordings or software that has been unsealed after delivery

If the factory is truly doing 300 cases per week, then Dark units should have finished packing by now, if they are doing it at the pace that they did stealth, they would be 1/3rd of the way through now.

I’ve not check yet, right now we’re 100% focused on finalizing our DHL deal and plan (so we don’t have to redo it for dark and steel due to misunderstandings). The pricing given to us makes me cry (manly tears ofc) but it gets the cases out there so dang fast you guys deserve it!

As others have said, I also hugely prefer DHL over UPS, so if that works out then I'll be a happy man :p

This has been answered previously, and it is unlikely

I’d really want to, just a bit afraid. For me (and probably many others), this case has magic that is incomparable to a mesh case or something similar. I’m a bit worried this magic may get little attention?

I personally think you should send him a unit as Ali's clout in the SFF community is pretty strong.

While he likely would say something like "I wish the side panels came in mesh" (I see that comment from just about every single person not just for Mjolnir), I also think he's capable of appreciating good quality craftsmanship when he sees it (he raved about the FormD T1's solid machined parts) and if the new performance side panels perform adequately enough, really the only thing left is the price/value which consumers can judge for themselves.

Mini-rant: maybe I’m missing something but who on earth came with RGB-header connectors on motherboards? Plugging the LED strips the wrong way around would short VCC to ground and damage them. Why make a connector that can be plugged in both ways?? **DuPont connectors trying to keep up with the cool dual-orientation USB-C boys**

ups are not responsible for losing customer packages or missing customer information. I will sue them in May. DHL is the best choice.
